Casola’s in Miami, Florida

Now my cousin doesn’t get scared easily of food but this is one of those cases where he did. When I went and got our burgers, with fries (mind you), I knew from the look in his eye that he would not be able to eat it. In his defense, he had just eaten a plate of seafood at his mom’s house prior to this but being the trooper that he is, he chose to join in on this assignment.

Our original intention was to go get some wings but I then decided Casola’s would be the place to eat at since I remembered how ridiculous their burger is. This place is mostly known for their Pizza and Subs but many are unaware of the Casola’s Burger (16 0z. Double Cheeseburger, Grilled Onions, & Italian Sausage slivers).

Casola’s Burger

The portions at Casola’s in general are larger than normal but that isn’t necessarily a good thing. The Pizza is average at best and the more toppings you add, the less likely it is that the Pizza will be any good. The fries taste like overused oil or bad fries take your pick. The Burger Patties themselves are not flavorful but the burger flavor seems to be coming from the Grilled Onions, cCheese and Italian Sausage slivers. Is this one of the best burgers I’ve ever had? Not really but if you consider yourself a fan of burgers then I suggest you challenge yourself to down one of these guys.

About Burger Beast

I started writing the Burger Beast food blog to tell folks about those little forgotten gems in South Florida. Over the course of the last 5 years or so I've added News, Opinions, & Tips on a variety of Food related subjects. My first love will always be Burgers but Comfort Food is where it's at. At the end of the day I’m a regular dude who writes about a bunch of things I think you should know about.

Holy crap that’s a big burger

  • Burger Beast

You should see it in person.

I’m sure freddy handled that AND a side of cole slaw

  • Dietcolalola

Freddy probably wrapped it up in a slice of pepperoni and drank it down with a Root Beer Float. You gotta love a man that lives his life with wild abandon!

  • RudeRic

This place is old school! By my old hood. The pizza isn’t great but when I was a kid, those slices were a great deal. Didn’t I tell you about that place and their cheese steaks?

  • Burger Beast

Yes, you did tell me about this place but back then I think it was just a stand.

    WAIT A MINUTE!

You don’t just shit on what many believe to be among the best slices of pizza in South Florida without providing some alternatives.

    Lets hear ‘em. Who’s better??

  • Carlos Miller

I’m amazed at the number of people who think this is good pizza. It’s horrible. Such a disappointment because they’re open late, they have a convenient location and a half-decent atmosphere.

But if I want pizza, I go to Slice N Ice on 17th Ave. just south of Bird.

Andiamo’s and Spriis are two of the best. Casolas pizza is as bad a eating cardboard with melted plastic.

Another burger I had no clue about.

But have you tried their tuna salad on croissant? Another of their hidden gems. The secret ingredient in their tuna salad? Breadcrumbs. As a result of this, I now use 2 kinds of breadcrumbs in mine. Sssh!
