Since Morton’s is less than a block from where I used to work. You’d think I’d have checked it out by now. I came into Morton’s with very high expectations since I heard that their mini burgers were really good. What I didn’t know was that the mini burgers are only served at their bar from 5pm on and it was 3pm right now. My friend Juan and I decide to just go ahead and sit down in the dining area. The service at this place is top notch.
Onion Loaf
We’re brought a loaf of onion bread that is the size of a brain in old horror movies. It ‘s warm, fresh and served with a thick pat of butter. “Yes, we’d both like to go with Morton’s Prime Sirloin Burger” , and I also ordered a Macaroni & Cheese side.
Mac N Cheese
The mac n cheese was really creamy and tasted awesome, plus it had a little bit of a crust on top. So, we’re served the burgers and I can’t wait to bite into this thing. I’m thinking, Morton’s is known for their steaks so this thing is going to be killer.
It’s overloaded with mushrooms and bacon and one bite into this thing should send me into burger nirvana, unfortunately it put me into burger collective soul (you had to see the grunge reference coming). It was just an average tasting burger with some really well done toppings. Maybe…we put this place up on a pedestal without even trying their food….. maybe we did, but one thing’s for sure if you’re at Morton’s I would suggest you lead with the steak.
