Hurricane Grill & Wings – Kendall, Florida

Marcela and I came over to visit Ed and his wife Davis (yes, I call her by her maiden name and she does have a first name, so what). Ed had mentioned to me that he had eaten at Hurricane Grill & Wings and I thought it a slum dunk when I suggested we order it. I look over the menu and decide we’ve got try at least 2 different flavors on their boneless wings. We go with Medium Hurricane Sauce & Spicy Chipotle. We also order the Yucatan Chicken Nachos, Obscenely Loaded Fries & the Firecracker Shrimp. Did I forget to mention we ordered a Cheesesteak as well as a Cheeseburger. OK, so that covers everything we ordered. On the way to pick up the order Ed asks me why I wanted to eat here. This is when I had a Twilight Zone moment. I’m thinking, am I crazy or didn’t he tell me this place was good. And the answer is, he didn’t. He thought the place was rather average. Oh no….. Everything comes in these cool little brown containers which was the only thing I remember Ed discussing on the long trip back to his house. My mind is racing, I just ordered a whole bunch of average food. As soon as we walk into his house I start pulling out the brown containers. So how was it? He was right. The Medium Hurricane Sauce
& Spicy Chipotle 
boneless chicken wings were in the same alley as Wendy’s new boneless chicken wings. The Obscenely Loaded Fries
& the Firecracker Shrimp
were ok also but the Yucatan Chicken Nachos were just plain gross.
Each of us had one nacho chip and were so disgusted we couldn’t eat anymore. Nachos with flavorless pinto beans, no thank you. As for our cheesesteak
and burger, 
you’d be better suited heading out to Miami Subs, if you ask me.

Miami Subs is horrible. So this place must be atrocious.
Interesting that you had a bad experience! I have eaten at this Hurricane and several others, and have never had an average meal much less a bad meal. To the contrary of what you experienced, I have always had awesome food! The wings are great, sauces the best, burgers to die for, and the Mahi Philly is unbelievable! I have always eaten at Hurricane and never taken out. I can't think of taking out loaded fries and believing they would come close to tasting good when I get them home. Just not something I would do! Same with wings … when I have left overs and take them home, they are not very good later. Anyway, wings, fries and burgers are just not meant to be taken-out. Eat them when they are hot and fresh vesus being steamed while driving around shooting the breeze with friends!!
Maybe, your taste buds are not as evolved as mine.
I agree with "Ano" to the extent that wings and fries take out suck. I have had good take out burgers though. Specifically, Sir Pizza in Key Biscayne…
Isn't this the place that has those exodic beer's? I also agree with anotomis! Yor suppose to have a beer with your wings!
I'm beginning to sense a Flanigans type conspiracy here.
You a e right about things getting steamed and tasting like crap that's why hooters has holes in there boxes, but mind you we drove like a block to get the food and back so its not like they were being hot boxed for over 15 minutes or anything. An i have tried eating there to get the experience, and guess what it tasted average at best there to.
