Super Subs Door

It seems like just yesterday that someone told me “Let me introduce you to an amazing sub shop”. Even though I don’t remember who that person was, I have never forgotten Super Subs Etc. 15 years later, I still believe Super Subs Etc. is the Best Sub Shop in Miami. I have never had a bad experience here and everyone is way friendly. For this jaunt, I’m also ordering for my parents. My mother is a fan of Italian Subs, so take a wild guess what she had? She loved it and I wasn’t surprised.

My dad had the Cheesesteak which always seems to have a smokey meaty flavor. This thing is pretty damn near perfect.

I have the Cheeseburger Sub with American Cheese, Onions and Bacon. Look, the Burger is of the boxed variety but they make it taste good. It has the same smokey flavor of the Cheesesteak and it’s just plain awesome.

The Fries (Seasoned Fries are also available) are great with a side of Nacho Cheese.

There’s about 100 different subs that you can order. I can’t heap enough praise on this place, so check it out.

So how’d I get in?

One last thing, Super Subs Etc. is the probably the site of one of my life’s most embarrassing moments. The sodas are in Styrofoam cups. The door to Super Subs is a bit on the hard side to open. You really need to exert some force. I was carrying out food for my sister and I one time when I did a big time dummy move. I tried pushing the door with the hand I was carrying the soda with. I crushed the cup in my hand and the soda exploded all over the place. The New Times magazine stand was drenched (sorry New Times). Super Subs Etc. was packed with people waiting for their food and when I looked up all eyes were on me. Before I could even make a move to try cleaning it up, I was asked to step aside. They cleaned it and never once complained about it. I wonder if they even remember this?

Very good. Very similar to Hungry Bear. Cold cuts better here, bread better at Hungry Bear. Overall a wash. I will return!

My favorite Sub shop. I've also been going there for 10+ years. The Chicken Cordon Bleu sub is fantastic, as is everything else. I often call in my order before hand. It's true that the door is very heavy, lol.

We have been going to this Sub Shop for many many years. After today we will NEVER return. My husband went this morning to get a breakfast sub (eggs, bacon…). I had already had a pastry and coffee and did not want breakfast but I asked him to get me a Reuben sandwich which I could eat later for lunch. He came back with the sandwich and when I opened it I said “This looks like ham, not corned beef”. I took a bite and realized that it was a ham (sliced into strips and browned) and onion sandwich with Thousand Island dressing. Lots and lots of onions. Not a bit of sauerkraut to be seen. I do not like ham. My husband returned to the shop with the sandwich which clearly had Reuben written on it. He complained that this was not a Reuben. They threw it in the garbage and said that this was their version of a Reuben. He asked “what sandwich do you want then?” My husband answered “a Reuben”. They also said they did not have sauerkraut because “people around here don’t like sauerkraut”. My husband became angry and told them they should not have Reuben listed on their wall menu as it is not a Reuben. They did not offer to give him his money back. They have lost very loyal customers.
