Chef's Burger Truck

My friend Jim found out about A Chef’s Burger and mentioned it to me. As far as seating is concerned, there are 2 chairs but that’s about it. Everything is served in to go containers so plan accordingly. It’s always located in the same spot, the parking lot of some business which they have some association with (they were using that business to ring out credit card transactions while I was there).

A couple of banners let you know where exactly A Chef’s Burger is located. I was with my niece Ericka & Caveman as we proceeded to the back of the truck to place our order. We take a gander (that’s right I said gander) over the Menu and decide The “Big Juicy” is for me. Ericka goes with The “New Zing” while Caveman does The “Crispy”. I also throw in some Buffalo Chicken Wings and Fries (the duo also share an order of Fries). Eating Buffalo Wings under the Sun was not a good idea.

While we’re on the topic of the Wings, they were good. They were served with a Curried Honey Mustard dipping Sauce, strange choice but great nonetheless.

The Fries were of the frozen variety but prepared right (nice and crispy) with some Seasoning.

Ericka’s “New Zing” was a Blackened Burger seasoned with Cajun Spices and topped with Grilled Onions & Sauteed Peppers. She thought it was great.

Caveman’s “Crispy” with “Crispy Birds Nest Onion Rings” was a winner. He absolutely loved it. I tried it and thought the same.

The “Big Juicy”, at last a stuffed burger I didn’t have to prepare. The “Big Juicy” is stuffed with American Cheese, topped with Sauteed Mushrooms and Onions. Great tasting Burger and it’s served somewhere in between Medium and Medium-Well, it wasn’t dried out. The Burgers were prepared fresh. I watched as he made The “Big Juicy” by hand. I watched as he cut the Onions, tossed them in Flour and fried them for The “Crispy”. I watched him chop the Peppers, Mushrooms and Onions for our burgers and then sauté them. Yes, I watched intently. It’s crazy to see this kind of attention to detail for food served from a truck but I’m not complaining.

Is the truck always in the same location?

Looks interesting. Miami is hungry for good food trucks.

Good find, Burger Beast. I'll have to try him out.

  • Caveman

The "Crispy" to me is a 5 of 5 for the simple fact that he made the fresh onion rings right in front of my face. He also added some sort of mayo sauce that enhanced the flavor of the burger and the onion rings. The burger wasn't charred and seemed to be just cooked right. (in between MED-MED Well) The parking lot had plenty of spaces but i can see it getting full quickly. Price wise it compares to Five Guys but You get a whole lot more burger and choices at A Chef's Burger. Definitely wanna go there again and is a must stop if your in the Design District.
