ham-bur:gue’sa – Bayside Marketplace in Miami, Florida

It seems ham-bur:gue’sa opened quietly and no one has made a mention of it. As a matter of fact, the only reason I knew about it was burgers for brunch had taken a picture of their sign. ham-bur:gue’sa is located in Bayside Marketplace, a location I don’t frequent as it’s a tourist trap. Last time I was at Bayside was over a year to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe – Miami. I called up my old friend Javi to see if he wanted to meet me there and once he said yes, the deal was a go. There really isn’t too much on the menu to order and you can’t choose how you want the burger cooked. It has some fast food aspects and it reminds of the type of place you’re more likely to find as an airport dining destination. Javi orders 2 Cokes for us and they try to give us bottles. He asks for Coke from the fountain machine, good man.

There were a few stools open right by the counter where we paid.  We opted to sit at them and in hindsight it was not a good idea. Once the line started forming, people were reaching in between us to grab their food and talk to the server. The food seems to be prepared in assembly line form as we received our burgers pretty quickly after ordering (we ordered doubles by the way). The fries were of the frozen variety, crispy but nothing special.

The burger wasn’t hot, and it tasted just ok. It was a little better than what you might get at your average fast food place. after the first bite I now knew why no one has mentioned ham-bur:gue’sa anywhere.
