Jacalito Taqueria Mexicana In Miami, Florida

Jacalito Sign

Jacalito Taqueria Mexicana is owned by the same folks as Mi Rinconcito Mexicano (a big time favorite of mine). Since this is a Taqueria (Taco Shop), the menu focuses on Tacos, Enchiladas, Quesadillas & Burritos. The decor might need to be worked on a little bit because I don’t understand why there’s an inflatable plane hanging above one of the tables. Once seated you’ll be served some of their fresh Tortilla Chips and Homemade Salsa.

This Salsa is not for the weak as you can see the Pepper Flakes in the picture. The Nachos appetizer is topped with Cheese, Mexican Crema (Sour Cream), Fresh Refried Beans and Pico de Gallo (the good stuff). They’re piled up in mountain form but don’t despair, all the toppings minus the Pico de Gallo are layered throughout.

Tacos are 3 for $5 so I had the Chorizo, Chicken and Cochinita Pibil tacos.

Of the 3, my least favorite was the Chorizo but that’s not to say that it’s bad. The Cochinita Pibil which is Slow Roasted Pork was my favorite. There are also Desserts on the menu which I didn’t get to and Breakfast is served as well (they open at 9am). Jacalito is going to be added to my regular rotation, as a matter of fact I’m going there again for lunch tomorrow.

About Burger Beast

I started writing the Burger Beast food blog to tell folks about those little forgotten gems in South Florida. Over the course of the last 5 years or so I've added News, Opinions, & Tips on a variety of Food related subjects. My first love will always be Burgers but Comfort Food is where it's at. At the end of the day I’m a regular dude who writes about a bunch of things I think you should know about.

Beat me to the punch! I've been over to this place a couple times now and have really liked it. Good selection of tacos, good prices, nice folks.

Are the tacos here the same as at Mi Rinconcito? Are there more or less meat choices, etc?

Mi Rinconcito is my go to

It's good to see some non-Taco-Bell taco joints spreading north of Homestead.

Always looking for a great Mexican place for lunch, and have been a fan of Mi Rinconcito Mexicano since they were only half as big. Stopped by today after seeing them on the Beast. To be honest, my tacos took forever even though we were the only table there when we ordered and they were still pretty cold when they arrived (mystery). The prices are low, but we kept getting some serious stank-eye from the creepy young cook. Place was better for a laugh than for lunch. I'll stay with Mi Rinconcito.

J Boogie, Sorry to hear that. Lately I've been calling in my order of Cochinita Tacos and picking them up to go.
