BurgerFi in Lauderdale By The Sea, Florida

BurgerFi has been open for a little while now but I put off checking it out since all I would really hear about it are the Shake Shack comparisons. There is no doubt that this is indeed a Shack Shack clone down to having Concretes (Frozen Custard). They do however have more options when it comes to dressing your burger but how does the food stack up to the Shack?

Cry and Fries

I love fries and I love onion rings so it’s great that the “Cry and Fries” option is available. I didn’t necessarily want to order 2 full individual orders of these guys. Both were solid and not greasy. If I had to choose I’d tell you to go for the fries as fresh cut fries can’t be beat in my grubby book.

I saw a Chili Dog on the menu and I to myself “BB, Do you really need this?”. Well, maybe I didn’t say the “BB” part. The answer of course is yes. I loved this thing but could have done with a little less of the Rex Hot Sauce on it. If it had been Frank’s Red Hot then it would have been a different story.

BurgerFi Classic Cheeseburger

The burger was great. It’s served in the little wax pocket like you know who but it’s bun is stamped with the BurgerFi logo. The patties had a nice little crust and were very juicy. They aren’t large either, they’re only about 4 ounces. I would have enjoyed the burger more had their been no secret sauce. I didn’t care for it at all as it seemed to be coming through a little too much. Don’t get me wrong, I would have another burger here in a heartbeat. Great place with some great food and a welcome addition to the SFL Burger scene.

I tried BurgerFi a couple months ago and maybe that’s why my experience with the onion rings was so poor — it was when they just opened. The sauce they serve with the rings is a good effort, but they would’ve been just fine with a spicy ranch. The rings themselves are just OK. Since I had both as well with the “Cry and Fries” option, I would suggest going all fries. I found them to be salty fried simple greatness.

I thought the burger was awesome. Ever since moving to Fort Lauderdale, a few different burger options have popped up in the east FTL /Lauderdale-by-the-Sea area. California Burgers and Shakes, BurgerFi, and CG Burgers. In my opinion, the best SIMPLE burger would go to BurgerFi. I dig California Burgers and Shakes for their different burger options, but it doesn’t taste as filling or fresh as BurgerFi. CG is good ENOUGH, but I wouldn’t say they are downright superb.

ilive up the road in pompano and bottom line its worth walking to get there if you dont have a car, bike or scooter. the fries ARE GREAT but the ONION RINGS ARE GREAT as well. The only thing that this place does better is the burger. i had a double with chili and grilled onion and left with a big smile on my face. me and my friend shaired a 50/50 split of rings and fries. If i had to complain about something it would be there a little pricey. But i guess if you want something thats really good you have to pay for it. I will be going back
