Do you know what’s really good? The Pan con Lechon from Papo Llega y Pon!
Papo Llega y Pon is located in the Allapattah part of Miami. I’ve probably driven past this place a few hundred times and never even taken a second glance.
It has more in common with an outdoor laundromat than the home of probably one of the most incredible Pan con Lechon sandwiches in Miami. Pan con Lechon is a Cuban roast pork sandwich for those non-locals.
Why Cuban? Not only cause I said so, but the flavors, preparation style, and bread make it so.
When ordering, you could go the pork-only route, but the onions, hot sauce, and mojo really make the sandwich exceptional. There are two sizes (small and large), a pan con bistec, and possibly some secret menu items.
I only mention this since the lady ahead of me (who shouldn’t have been wearing a tube top) ordered a loaf of Cuban bread stuffed with heavenly meat.
If you get there early enough, chicharrones can also be had, but I haven’t been that lucky.
