Hard Rock Cafe Hotel in Hollywood, Florida

The Hard Rock Cafe at the Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood has a meaty attraction that only exists at a handful of their restaurants, a Burger Room! This room is used to grind up fresh burger patties that Hard Rock customers will eat that same day.

Hard Rock Cafe Obsession

I remember being in 5th grade and jealous of other kids who had t-shirts proving that they had been to the Hard Rock Cafe in New York or Chicago. Honestly, I didn’t even know what it was, but I knew I needed to own one of those shirts.

On one of those careless summers of my youth, we vacationed in California. In other words, we hit up Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, Six Flags Magic Mountain, and Universal Studios. My aunt (who lived with my grandmother in Glendale, California, at the time) mentioned that there was a Hard Rock Cafe not far from their house.

My mind was now set on where I needed to eat. I knew I would not have had a perfect trip if I didn’t go there before I left.

After that fateful day, when I ate from that Hard Rock Cafe, I started my collection filled with branded merchandise from different Hard Rock Cafe locations. Of course, my merch obsession would subside as I got older, but that HRC logo still has a special place in my heart.

Before a Miami or Hollywood Hard Rock Cafe location in Florida, I would try to convince anyone I could to make the three-and-a-half-hour drive to the Hard Rock next to Universal Studios Orlando.

And finally, when the Miami location in Bayside Marketplace opened up, I, along with a few of my closest friends, waited in line at the grand opening. So that we could eat there on its first day (well over 2-hour wait).

I’m not necessarily proud of that last fact since I’ve ceased the wait-in-line thing.

Most of my obsession came from the branding of the place, mainly the logo. The food always plays second fiddle to their massive marketing machine. Hard Rock Cafes always hype how great their burgers taste.

Are they that good?

The Hard Rock Cafe at Bayside is not a place I frequent. It’s a tourist trap. Most people who want to eat at the Hard Rock go to the hipper Hard Rock Seminole in Hollywood.

I don’t blame them. However, if you’re looking for a more authentic experience, you’ll probably want to hit up the Miami location.

It’s packed to the rafters with historical music memories. Now, if you’re looking for more of a dining experience, then the Hollywood restaurant will be more your speed.

Hard Rock Cafe Burger Room

Plus, Hard Rock Cafe in Hollywood is one of a few select locations with a Burger Room that grinds their beef daily. Yes, kinda like the old-school Fuddruckers minus the hanging carcasses. The newly revamped burgers (with a signature blend that includes brisket) are great, answering that age-old question.

Hard Rock Cafe’s Burger Statistics & Grilling Tips

May 25th, 2013 – To help celebrate Memorial Day Weekend, the Hard Rock Cafe prepared some exciting burger statistics. So if you were planning on grilling this weekend, here are some tips to help your burger be as good as it can be. Always use fresh beef when grilling; it makes all the difference in the world.

State of the Burger – Statistics

  • One for the money, two for the show … 73 percent of people surveyed eat at least one and up to five burgers per month
  • Cheese please, 22 percent of fans cited cheese as their favorite burger topping, with cheddar being the top cheese of choice for more than 55 percent of respondents (a shocking upset for American cheese lovers everywhere)
  • International relations, the American burger is best suited for a French companion, with 60 percent of those asked naming the French fry as their burger’s perfect mate (a mild surprise to shake lovers)
  • Buns won; even in a carb-conscious world, 89 percent of respondents wouldn’t think of enjoying a burger without a bun
  • Well played, 30 percent of burger connoisseurs surveyed prefer their burger cooked medium-well – with a slightly pink center
  • Legendary griller, 26 percent of fans thought Bon Jovi would be perfect to man the burger grill at a summer-concert tailgate – beating out musical competitors like Justin Timberlake and Beyoncé

Grilling Tips

  1. Every component is essential and needs to be FRESH (e.g., crisp lettuce, ripe tomatoes, etc.)
  2. Start with high-quality meat – Hard Rock Cafe, we use Certified Angus Beef
  3. For the best bun, use a fresh bun and lightly butter it before toasting on the grill
  4. The grill should be in the 550-degree range to sear meat well – the time it takes to cook will depend on the temperature of the grill and the thickness of the burger
  5. You can flip the burger a few times, but no more than three
  6. Please don’t press the burger to make it cook faster because you want the juices to seal in
  7. Don’t burger poke with a fork
  8. A great burger doesn’t need to be ‘overly-seasoned’ – simple salt and fresh ground pepper will do the trick to bring out the natural flavors
