40 Best Burgers & Top 10 Chain Burgers in America by The Daily Meal

The Daily Meal just put out their “40 Best Burgers in America” and “Top 10 Chain Burgers in America” lists. Burger & Beer Joint’s Mustang Sally just makes it into the Top 40 at the 38 spot and is the only Florida representative. On the Top 10 Chain Burgers list, excluding In-N-Out (which won’t be in Florida for at least another 50 years), Fatburger (who closed down its 2 South Florida outposts) and Whataburger (only available in Northern Florida) all the other others can be or will be (Bobby’s Burger Palace to open in the Fall) had in Miami. Leave your thoughts on who should have made the list below in the comments area, I’m interested to hear them.

About Burger Beast

I started writing the Burger Beast food blog to tell folks about those little forgotten gems in South Florida. Over the course of the last 5 years or so I've added News, Opinions, & Tips on a variety of Food related subjects. My first love will always be Burgers but Comfort Food is where it's at. At the end of the day I’m a regular dude who writes about a bunch of things I think you should know about.

I’ve had both ShakeShack and In-n-Out — it is not even close — In-n-Out wins hands down.

Meat — Double-Double uses two thinner slices and SS uses a single thicker slice. The two slice have lots more caramelized meat, which is what makes the DD taste so darn good.

California produce vs. New York produce — oh, please, it snows all over NY produce.

Buns — In-n-Out has white flour buns toasted to perfection. SS has yellow buns made out of potatoes with hinges. Hinges belong on hotdog buns and potatoes belong in Irish cuisine.

History — In-n-Out has been the best hamburger chain in Cali for over 50 years. SS has been going strong for about 5 years.

I agree. INO is the best burger chain PERIOD. Simple menu, secret menu, fantastic freshness. great burger sauce and nothing frozen.
