What is that, you must be asking yourself. SpikeTV has a new program called Frankenfood hosted by Josh Capon (multiple NYCWFF Burger Bash Winner) and Tony Luke Jr. (master of the Philly Cheesesteak). They are looking for the most ridiculous and unexpected food combinations. Of course, they’re going to discover some duds along the way but they’re looking for the “it shouldn’t work but it does” frankenfoods. Some of the “dishes” you’ll see include a triple-decker pastrami donut sandwich, fried PB&J fish sticks, Gyro egg rolls and a cheesecake burger.
Each episode of “Frankenfood” features the best and worst local amateur food innovators competing head-to-head in order to get their unexpected food concoctions onto the menu of a popular local restaurant, win a $10,000 cash grand prize and possibly create the next big food craze. The first episode (a double header) airs on Sunday June 22nd at 10PM.

South Floridians are in luck this week as you’ll have an opportunity to sample a few of dishes (for use of a better term) from the Frankenfood show. How you say? Chef Troy Thomas of the Rolling Stove Food Truck will be at 5 different spots this week in a FRANKENFOOD retrofitted Food Truck giving out samples of Fruity Pebble Chicken Tenders, Guinness Chocolate Coated Pork Belly, Fried Slim-Jim Mac-N-Cheese Balls, Bacon Wrapped Chocolate Éclair and Spam “Sushi”. Times and locations are below, and remember they’re only giving out samples till they run out so I’d be first in line if I were you.
