When I announced that Ms. Cheezious was opening up a restaurant on Biscayne Blvd in April of 2013 they had just won their second Burger Beast Burgie Award for Best Dade County Food Truck. Flash forward to almost two years later after many setbacks and delays and on the day after their 4th consecutive Burgie Award win, the Ms. Cheezious restaurant is finally open.
At night it’s impossible to miss with the great neon sign created by my maniacal friend, the Bulldog.
But before we get to the food here is the menu…
Right off the bat I knew the Patty Melt (6 oz. Patty on Sourdough with Chorizo Pimento Cheese & House Cured Bacon) had my name all over it but that Frito Pie Melt (House Chili, American Cheese, Jalapeños, Onions & Fritos on Sourdough Bread) was also calling my name.
Don’t get scared though cause all of your regular favorites & specials from the truck are here too like the Grilled Blue & Bacon (Crispy Bacon, Creamy Blue Cheese & Green Onion on Sourdough Bread) and the recent masterpiece from Croquetapalooza, the Croqueta Monsieur (Ham Croquetas, Tavern Ham, Swiss Cheese & Béchamel on Sourdough Bread).
Some of the sides include include a Turkey 3-Bean Chili, Sweet Potato Fries, a Mac N Cheese (Gouda Mac topped with Parmesan Crumble) and some great Buffalo Wings where you don’t get stiffed with a thimble full of Blue Cheese (it’s house-made and damn near perfect).
The folks at Ms. Cheezious never wavered on the quality of their food and service on their food trucks. I was there for their debut at Art Basel in December of 2010 and watched them work their asses off to build the loyal fanbase they have. It was a great moment to walk in to the restaurant and see what hard work and dedication produces.
Congratulations, que viva el queso.
