I Love Martin’s Potato Rolls, Do You? + CONTEST

Martin's Potato Rolls Logo

I can’t remember exactly when I fell in love with Martin’s Potato Rolls but that doesn’t really matter, the most important thing is that I did.

Sure, one bite into any of their buns is game changer for the inexperienced (aka Potato Roll Rookies) but did you know they’ve been family owned since the company was founded back in the 1950s? You’ve gotta appreciate and love a story like that, I do.

The different sizes available make it easy to accommodate whatever you’re putting between two buns. Some are rather simple to figure out like the Long Potato Roll for Hot Dogs and the Hoagie Rolls for Subs.

I normally get either the Sandwich Potato Roll for when I’m doing a smaller Burger like a 1/3 of a pound or if I’m going for a big boys Burger like 1/2 lb. or a full pound of grilled deliciousness then it’s time to bring out the Big Marty’s, which seem to be extra fluffy.

About Burger Beast

I started writing the Burger Beast food blog to tell folks about those little forgotten gems in South Florida. Over the course of the last 5 years or so I've added News, Opinions, & Tips on a variety of Food related subjects. My first love will always be Burgers but Comfort Food is where it's at. At the end of the day I’m a regular dude who writes about a bunch of things I think you should know about.

Give me a long potato roll and a bratwurst and you’ve given me happiness. I will be forever in your debt and will make a wonderful and heartfelt speech at your wedding/graduation/bar mitzvah/court arraignment talking about the awesome time you gave me a brat on a Martin’s long potato roll.

I love the sandwich potato roll because they are good for burgers or a turkey sandwich…but I honesty love and buy all of them.

  • SuzyQuzey

The Big Marty’s are my fave, but I wish them came in slider size. Love those sesame seeds! Martin’s Potato Rolls are really the only bread product I buy. I have a toasted half with my breakfast every day!

  • cnotez

Classic potato buns! Grill up sum bubba burgers sauce em up in sum sticky fingers Q, add sum BLTO, “just mayo” since im allergic to eggs, some kethup and i top it with the new sirachi picnic sticks..flame on!!!

I love the sandwich potato roll ..but ever since I became intolerant to gluten I have not been able to eat such things. However It was good while it lasted.

I’m liking the whole wheat rolls a lot right now. They’re smaller yet, perfectly sized for the burgers I’ve made. Plus, they’re healthier since they’re made with whole wheat. Even then, the signature potato roll flavor is not lost.

The easy answer: Whichever Martin’s Potato Roll is headed for my mouth is my favorite Martin’s Potato Roll. But I guess that sounds a little corny (and this is a tater thang), so I’ll go with the Big Marty. Big enough to handle everything I’ve ever thrown at (on) it, with the added sesame seed texture. Lightly grilled to keep the massive burger-eater in me happy.

I grew up in Central PA and there is no better bread or rolls than Martin’s! Now that I live in Maine, they’re not as easy to get (the closest grocery store that has them is almost an hour away). I don’t get them as often as I’d like, but boy, nothing beats them!

  • Renee Walker

I had never tried Martin’s rolls until about a year ago. Yep, now a firm believer in them! Their sandwich rolls are great for burgers. They hold up so well! But my favorite is either the dinner roll or party roll, loaded with butter of course.

Everything tastes better on a roll. Even better when it’s a Martin’s potato roll.

  • Joni Metcalf

I love Martin Potato Rolls! I eat them plain or with a burger, hotdog, or a turkey sandwich. I grew up on them. Whenever I moved from Maryland my Dad would bring me Martin Potato Rolls on his every visit. I’m so glad now that I love where I can purchase them now and eat my favorite Martin’s potato rolls!
