Tickets for the 2014 Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival went on sale today. I’m particularly excited because of the Medianoches & Mixology at Wynwood Walls hosted by Food Network’s Anne Burrell (Friday Feb. 21st at 10PM). Why you ask? I’m curating the event and choosing many of my favorite Medianoche & Comfort Food restaurants throughout South Florida.
You can expect Medianoches, Croquetas, Cafe con Leche, Hot Chocolate & Churros and of course Drinks, hence the Mixology part of the name. As I mentioned, Anne Burrell will be hosting and the full line-up is Bread + Butter Counter, Cuban Guys, Daddy’s Grill Cafe, El Exquisito, Islas Canarias, Latin House Grill, Los Bobos, Luis Galindo’s Latin American, Wynwood Kitchen & Bar and for dessert Azucar Ice Cream Company, Churromania and Sweetness Bakeshop.

Last night was my 2nd annual Mexican Independence Day Celebration, El Main Evento. The idea behind the event was to combine all of the things I love from Mexican culture including of course the Food, Mariachis and Lucha Libre. I threw in a Burrito Contest also for the fun of it. Each of the 17 Food Trucks created a specialty Mexican dish. We had HuaHua’s Taqueria, La Migaja Mexican Bakery and Latin House Burger & Taco Bar set up in our restaurant tent along with vocalist Edivan Armas belting out great Mexican tunes. Don’t worry if you missed it this year because El Main Evento will be back next year. For now, live vicariously through these pictures:
This year Food Trucks at Arts Park will once again host an event for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation which helps raise money to battle Childhood Cancer. It is taking place this Monday September 16th from 5:30-9:30PM.

There is also a dunk tank which will have local celebrities like Local 10 Morning Anchor Jason Martinez, Local 10 MJ Acosta and Mickey Byrnes owner Mark Rowe among others.
And all the Food Trucks will have donation jars where you can drop a few dollars.
