You know what’s really good? The Mini Fritas at Sergio’s

Sergio's Mini Frita

You know what’s really good? The Mini Fritas at Sergio’s. I love the Croquetas at Sergio’s and now I can add their Mini Fritas to my love list. These 3 or 4 bite Fritas come on fresh little rolls with the just fried papa juliannas (Julienne Potatoes), diced raw Onions and Ketchup. It can be a great little breakfast dish or an afternoon snack, I would know. They’re available at all 5 Sergio’s locations in Miami but there’s one catch, because the rolls are baked daily and in limited quantities once they’re out so are the Fritas. You know what needs to be done.

You know what’s really addictive? Potoffee Chips

Potoffee Chips

You know what’s really addictive? Potoffee Chips. Never heard of ‘um? Me too. They’re Potato Chips (of the ruffled variety) covered with handmade Butter Toffee.

A couple of months back the Potoffee Truck began attending a few Food Truck events here and there. I was like, who the hell is this? I thought the name made no sense, I may have even created my own jingle about it. When I finally tried a Potoffee Chip I saw the light. Yes, you must have these. You must track them down. One last warning/suggestion, they are highly addictive so buy extra.

You know what’s really good? The Short Rib Grilled Cheese & Poutine at Rok:Brgr – Miami

If you’re a first timer at Rok:Brgr it makes sense for you to try one of the burgers, that’s a no brainer. Now, if you’ve been there a couple of times and want to break out from your normal routine, then you should add the Short Rib Grilled Cheese & Poutine to your must try/eat list.

The Short Rib Grilled Cheese features Short Rib with Caramelized Onions, Fontina Cheese on a Toasted & Buttered Bread. There’s only one way to amp this dish up:

Make sure to “Add Bacon” to it:

Bacon!

As for the Poutine, I’m not too sure as to its authenticity (never been to Canada) but it does taste damn good. The Fries, which are hand cut are topped with Cheese Curds, smothered in Gravy and served in a mini cast iron skillet (be careful, it was very hot). You may not want to share.

But you probably should, if you wanna try out something new.

You Know What’s Really Good? The Chili Cheese Dog from Dog Eat Dog Food Truck

Look at this fella! I’m hungry all over again.

You know what’s really good? The Chili Cheese Dog from Dog Eat Dog Food Truck.

I was standing in line waiting to order from a Food Truck (no I won’t name them) on Monday at Arts Park where I had a clear view of Dog Eat Dog. As I inched up closer to place my order all I could think about was why wasn’t I eating the Chili Cheese Dog from Dog Eat Dog. It was too much for me to handle and much like a Zombie lusting Brains, I needed a D.E.D. fix.

The Dog is wrapped in Bacon and smothered in their homemade Chili and homemade Cheese Sauce. I chose to skip out on the Potato Sticks as I’m quite content with just these toppings. The Chili which had no beans (Yes!) had the right amount of beefiness and a touch of sweet. It could have probably only been better by adding a dash of Hot Sauce, not their fault but mine.

I ordered 2 and pretty much inhaled them. It was almost as if I never even had them. So I ordered a 3rd just so my wife could try it but she was too consumed with her Asquerosito Dog. Your next question must be, what is an Asquerosito Dog?

It’s a Venezuelan Street Food Style Hot Dog with Garlic Mayo, Pink Sauce, Ketchup, Mustard, Corn, Raw Onions, Potato Sticks and Parmesan Cheese. Another must try but it really is a bit of an acquired taste. In the meantime, take a good long look at the Chili Cheese Dog. It really is a thing of beauty.

You know what’s really good? Cheeseburger at Daddy’s Grill Food Truck

You know what’s really good? The Cheeseburger at Daddy’s Grill Food Truck. Sure, there’s the much larger Big Daddy’s Burger (with Bacon & Ham) which is still half a pound. I don’t think the burger needs it. The key factor here is that the burger is brushed with Chimichurri Sauce and along with that nice burger crust we’re in business. If you like condiments, ask for and add the garlic sauce they serve with the fries to your burger. You’ll be jonesing for a second one.

You know what’s really good? The Burgidito from Bocaditos

The Burgidito in all its glory!

You know what’s really good? The Burgidito micro burger sandwich from the Bocaditos food truck.  So what exactly is a “Burgidito”?  It’s a micro burger with fresh ground chuck (grass-fed beef), all natural Candied Bacon, grilled Hass Avocado, Pickled Red Onion & Arugula on a toasted little Bun.

Let’s be clear here, I don’t eat Avocado or Arugula at all. I don’t care for it. An exception had to be eventually made. This little dude packs a flavor wallop. It really is a well thought out combination of toppings. It’s not always available on the Bocaditos Truck so follow on them on Twitter.

You know what’s really good? Pollo’s Crispy Chicken Chunks in Kendall

You know what’s really good? Pollo’s Crispy Chicken Chunks in Kendall. Crispy Chicken Chunks are where’s it at and Pollo’s does a great job with them. Most hispanics would refer to this as Chicharron de Pollo. Pollo’s served them up slightly crunchy on the outside and moist/juicy on the inside with a Cilantro sauce I didn’t really care for. I ate them straight up plain and enjoyed every little crispy piece that came my way.
