Burger King is running a new BK Stacker promotion which is pretty self explanatory. You get the BK Single Stacker for $1, BK Double Stacker for $2 and you can pretty much guess that the BK Triple Stacker is the $3 deal. No word on how long this is going on for so eat up!

While walking around what is the tourist trap area of Cozumel, I came across this Burger King. I had no intentions to order anything but once I took a look at the menu and saw the “Cheesy Whopper”, I knew there was no way I was leaving empty handed. My father was with me and mentioned that he wanted Jalapeno Poppers. Poppers….wait, what else is there here to try? And so began my downward spiral into a massive order.

Cheesecake Bites, I decided against these
The Wings I couldn’t say no to

In the picture on their counter the “Alitas” aka Wings look roasted but they’re actually fried with hot sauce drizzled on top of them. They were your run of the mill wings with a nothing special hot sauce on them. The wings are also available topped with BBQ sauce but some blue cheese might have been a nice gesture.

The Jalapeno Poppers came 4 to an order. Burger King carried these in late 2000 and I found myself ordering them back then. They’re not too shabby, just like what you’d expect them to taste (please keep all thoughts to yourself).

Next up was the Papas Fundidas which were fries topped with cheese sauce, bacon bits and Jalapenos. I didn’t like it. I couldn’t place the taste of the cheese but what was worse were the bacon bits. The bacon bits were Bac-O’s which I think are pretty gross.

The Cheesy Whopper is a Whopper topped with a breaded cheese patty. I ordered a single Whopper but I wonder if I had order the double would they have placed the cheese in-between them. I asked for no lettuce or tomato thinking it would come plain but it came with mayo and ketchup. The Whopper didn’t have that much of that BK grill taste while it still retained somehow it’s Burger King taste somehow. The cheese itself reminded me of Cheesy Tots they were selling until recently. I like the concept and hope we’ll be seeing it in the US soon and maybe even on the chicken sandwich.

And just when you think I couldn’t have possibly ordered anything else, I did. The Burger King deep fried Apple Pie, something that has not been on their menu since the 1980′s. It looks just like the McDonald’s version which can still be found if you really look but the taste is different. Burger King’s fried Apple Pie is closer to a funnel cake and less of an apple taste.

It was cool to try some fast food in Cozumel but I regret driving by the McDonald’s and not stopping, who knows what can be found there.

I got a chance to go check out the newly remodeled and redesigned Burger King nearest to their corporate office. It’s now Open 24 hours (I think only the drive-thru is 24 hours). Right when Marcela had just snapped her last photo, she was told that pictures are not allowed in there, ok well…too late!

I’m not gonna lie to you. I really want these guys. There’s going to be 2 of them available in August. The first is just the Funko Bobble Head and the second is the the Funko Force Bobble Head. They’re both approximately 6 inches tall but the Funko Force version comes with poseable hands and a Whopper.

So what makes someone wake up at 8am and drive 220 some miles to Orlando to have a Whopper? I don’t know that I have an answer to that question. I’ve been reading about the Whopper Bar since last year when the plans and location were announced for it. Last night I decided it was time to check out the BK Whopper Bar. After getting to Citywalk and paying for the preferred parking (this how I do it, Montell Jordan style). We park in the King Kong 311 section (he must be a fan) . And then I realize I paid $17 for preferred parking when I could have paid for Valet and been 5 times closer. Anyway, that’s neither here nor there (I’ve always wanted to throw that line in a review). As we’re walking towards Citywalk I notice that the Whopper Bar is on the second floor, right above the theater. The seating and actual space is shared with Panda Express and Moe’s Southwest Grill. I walk in and look around and feel the need to take in the place. I check out my options up on the menu board. What you can’t tell from the picture is that the menu is 3 Tv screens and there’s smoke rising up from the food, pretty cool (maybe I’m easily impressed). We order 3 Whoppers: Bourbon Whopper, 3 Cheese Steakhouse XT and Mushroom & Swiss Steakhouse XT. The glaze on the Bourbon Whopper reminds me of teriyaki sauce. This Whopper has the original Whopper patty and not the new Steakhouse XT patty. Of the 3, this is my favorite. The 3 Cheese Steakhouse XT was good also and I liked the Peppercorn cheese. The patty seems to be about twice the thickness of a normal Whopper. I like it, it tastes like a Whopper yet it doesn’t. The 3rd Whopper we had was a Mushroom & Swiss Steakhouse XT, it’s not bad. Now, I’m not saying it’s inferior in flavor to the other 2, I just like the flavor combinations of the other 2 better. The lesson I did learn was, I should have used the build your own Whopper option. I would probably go with Smoked Bacon, Angry Onions, Cheddar Cheese and Bourbon-flavored Sauce. One other thing, there is also a BK Studios which is located downstairs in front of the Fossil store. It has some pre-made t-shirts as well as customizable designs. There is also a website for BK Studios for those of you who can’t make it Orlando: here. If you’re in Citywalk definitely check it out for a different kind of Whopper experience. Me….I’ll wait for the rumored addition of beer before I go again.
