New Chicken Sandwiches at Pincho Factory

Pincho Factory Shop

I dropped in to Pincho Factory yesterday to have one of their new Chicken Sandwiches. There’s a new Menu up where you can customize your sandwich and choose the protein of your choice. It made most sense for me to make my sandwich a Buffalo Blue Bacon Chicken. What’s nice about the Pincho Factory version of a Buffalo Chicken sandwich is that there’s no breading, just grilled breast of Chicken (aka el white meat). The sammy was great and I’m not sure if I could bring myself to have a different Chicken Sandwich as this one really hit the spot. And in case you were wondering, that little cheese crisp at the front of the sandwich was excellent.

I also had this Chipotle Dog in lieu of Fries. I thought you might want to get a look at it so there it is.

Shake Shack Dapper Dog

Shake Shack’s got a couple of new items you can check out. “The Dapper Dog is a Vienna all-beef hot dog topped with Shack cheddar and American cheese sauce and crispy ShackMeister Ale marinated shallots.” Also a house made & seasonal Blood Orange Lemonade. Not sure exactly how long these folks will be on the menu but both items are available at all U.S. Shake Shack locations.

La Camaronera Now Has Seating Options

Front of La Camaronera

When was the last time you stopped in to Miami landmark La Camaronera in Little Havana? You already know it’s home to the Freshest and Best Fried Fish in town. One other staple of this joint is that’s it’s been standing room only for over 30 years but now with the addition of the new dining area things have changed. Some of their original customers will again be able to eat at La Camaronera for the 1st time in a long time.  And sometimes it’s just great to sit down, relax and enjoy a meal. It’s perfect timing too as their 40th Anniversary is right around the corner!

Twinkie No More?

Hostess Brands Inc., Twinkies and Wonder Bread amongst other creations had filed for Chapter 11 protection this past January. This morning they announced that they had filed a motion with U.S. Bankruptcy Court “seeking permission to close its business and sell its assets, including its iconic brands and facilities“. A strike by Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union was the crippling blow which will cause “the closure of 33 bakeries, 565 distribution centers, approximately 5,500 delivery routes and 570 bakery outlet stores throughout the United States“.

What does this mean to you? If you love any Hostess®, Drakes® or Dolly Madison® products including Twinkies®, CupCakes, Ding Dongs®, Ho Ho’s®, Sno Balls® and Donettes® you better run out and buy them now! Whatever is on store shelves and on route to stores right now are the last of it.

Me personally? I’ll miss Wonder Bread but I’m sure it will rise again (a very small Yeast joke).

Miami Subs Grill Is Bringing In The Latin Flavors

On Monday, Miami Subs Grill posted the picture below on their Facebook Page asking the question, “Hmmm… why are we posting a “behind the scenes” pic of a Cuban sandwich?”. Since Pitbull recently became an owner, I figured it meant the Cubanification of Miami Subs Grill. Annnndddd I was right!

I hope Miami Subs Grill’s heart is in it cause do we really need more hacky faux Cuban food?
