Longhorn Steakhouse is one of those places where they do one thing pretty good and that’s Steaks. I’m not gonna lie and say that I don’t like a couple of things off of the Menu but the Burgers are not those items. The funny thing is that they have 5 different Burgers on their lunch menu but only one on their dinner menu. So I was with my bud Dietcolalola and my wife Marcela. We were starving and driving the waitress crazy (although I think she was enjoying it). So we ordered the Texas Cheese Fries, Texas Tonion, & Boneless Chicken Wings as apps.
The Texas Cheese Fries are one of those items I love, Fries with three kinds of Cheese, Bacon, Chili, and Jalapeños. I’ve had their Chili solo but I prefer it on these Fries even though they do go a little cheap on the Jalapeños. The Texas Tonion is their take on the Onion Petal app (that swept the nation 15 years ago) except Longhorn’s are individual petals, not bad. I’m a sucker for Chicken Strips, Tenders, Nuggets, whatever you’d like to call them and the Boneless Chicken Wings here fall into that category. I like them but I would have preferred them to be a little spicier.
So I ordered the only Burger on their dinner menu, the Cheeseburger. Even though their menu claims this Burger is juicy(not so) and that it’s half a pound (not likely since it was mostly Onions), I liked the fact that it came with Mayo, Ketchup and Mustard (childhood thing I guess). The Bun was toasted and it was a nice touch with the addition of the Bacon and Swiss Cheese. Would I return here to eat a burger here again? Probably not, but if I did I’d come at lunchtime.
