Knaus Berry Farm – Homestead, Florida

Everyone assumes that Knaus Berry Farm is run by the Amish but it’s not. The Knaus family, who are Dunkers (German baptists which are often confused for Amish) have run Knaus Berry Farm for over 50 years. I had heard about Knaus for years but have only been purchasing their baked goods for about 5 years. It’s a good way to spend a few hours in the afternoon with the family.

Knaus Berry Farm Menu 2011

You can go out back and pick strawberries or just buy strawberries that have been picked for you. The shakes are good, I won’t go and say they’re amazing because they’re not.

Which way to go?

Cin Buns

Dinner Rolls

I’ll save the usage of that word for the baked goods. From the honey & homemade jams to the black bottom cake & cinnamon rolls, this stuff is out of this world. You need to make the effort to check this place out, you won’t be disappointed, at least I hope not.

Yeah the shakes are nothing special, I don't know why so many people think they are so "amazing".

BUT yeah, the BAKED GOODS are sooooo worth the trip!!!

The sticky buns, and the herb breadsticks!!! MMMMMmmmmmm….Those are amazing!

The shakes at Robert Is Here (FL. City) runs circles around the ones at Knauss.
It's the herd mentality that makes people flock there.

It’s not just “herd mentality”. Some of that “herd” grew up on those buns and shakes so it is nostalgia to have a childhood memory.

Sure, there are better. But there is a distinct taste to the Knaus Berry shake. And pair it up with the cinnamon buns and it is a return to youth.

Herd mentality?? Sounds like you either are or work for “Robert is Here”. Sorry but I visit Knaus Berry Farms about every two years when I get the craving for one of their wonderful buns…Are they smaller than they used to be? Yes, are they more expensive? Yes. These reasons and the caloric/fat content are why I only go every few years but they are still the best I’ve ever had! Nothing like peeling off a nice warm piece of the bun while still in the parking lot:))) yum me:-)))
