CheeseMe Mobile Food Truck – CLOSED

CheeseMe Mobile Food Truck

This is the one I’ve been waiting for, a Cheese truck. CheeseMe is more than that though because you can get a Tomato Basil Soup or Chili as well, or a Pulled Pork Sandwich or…I could go on and on. While there are “House Speciality” Sandwiches on the menu, the ability to create your own Sandwich by choosing from a variety of Bread, Cheeses and “Insertions” is where it’s at.

Kobe Chili w/Shredded Goodness

Kobe Chili w/Shredded Goodness

We started with the Kobe Chili (Sour Cream, Green Onions & Cheddar). I’m not a fan of Chili with a whole bunch of Beans which was good for me (this one didn’t have many), it also had some sweetness to it but no heat. You can choose the American Kobe Chili as a dipping sauce for the Fries, which seems like a good idea to me.

Turkey on New York Rye w/Gruyere

Turkey on New York Rye w/Gruyere

My sister orders New York Rye as her bread, Cave Aged Gruyere as the Cheese and Roasted Turkey as the insertion. The Bread was perfectly toasted and buttery delicious. I forgot to add that she asked for a side of the Truffle Mayo to slather on it. This was a killer sandwich.

The McShane

My wife Marcela had the McShane (Pulled Pork, Ruthie’s Slaw, Cheddar on Garlicked Texas Toast). I really enjoyed the Pulled Pork but Slaws are just not my thing, she really dug it though. We had also ordered their Fries as well as the Mac N’ Cheese Pancakes.

The Sauces for the Fries are à la carte: Wasabi Mayo, Truffle Mayo, Cheddar Cheese, Roasted Garlic & Kobe Chili. The Fries were fresh cut & good stuff as was the Mac N’ Cheese Pancakes. What are Mac N’ Cheese Pancakes? Mac N’ Cheese in patty form and then cooked on a flat top which gives them Cheesy crispiness. Nice.

So what did I order?

Short Rib Grilled Cheese with Gruyere on Texas Toast

My Texas Toast, Gruyere and Short Rib Grilled Cheese were extraordinary. Wowsers! And if that wasn’t enough, I also had an English Muffin, Vintage Cheddar & 6 oz. Kobe Beef Grilled Cheese. It was right on point.

6 oz. American Kobe Patty on English Muffin w/Cheddar Cheese

The entire time while enjoying my Sandwiches I was thinking about what possible combinations I could come up with next. I have a feeling you’ll be doing the same thing too.

P.S.: I may have snuck in an American Kobe Slider w/Grilled Onions & Cheese too.

Except for the turkey sandwich it looks like there's more bread than meat. Still think it's overpriced.

I guess you'll have to taste it to get it – I had the kobe and pulled pork slider and fries, all of which was increadible…and I was stuffed. BUT – I still hadn't tried a true "CheeseMe" option. So I got my texas toast grilled cheese stuffed with Short Rib – and it was absolutely awsome – but I was too full to order my next choice. Next time I'm trying the fries – with chili …or maybe the Truffle Mayo. Cheeseme is to food trucks as Cirque du Soleil is to the circus –

I'm finding that a lot of the food trucks I eat at are overpriced.
I love the food, but part of the appeal of the trucks to me should be a lower price as a result of the lower overhead.
If I'm paying full restaurant price then I should be able to sit down in a comfortable booth, in an air-conditioned place, have my water glass refilled, get 2 sides with my entree, etc.

@Gold Girl. These trucks don't operate daily and you pay a premium for great ingredients and amazing food. You could go to 3 different sushi places, that all make the same dishes but the ingredients in one and the preparation in another will drive the price.

@Beast been waiting for one of these too… they should have stuck to the straight up grilled cheese speciality like the truck they featured on the food network in north california.

I have been waiting for a cheese truck since I saw one on the food channel and the menu sounds delicious. But,I have to agree that the prices are a bit high, especially for a grilled cheese sandwich. And for the previous comment…not all food trucks are pricey. Jefe's Fish Tacos & Burgers prices are very reasonable. 3.50 for a great burger and 2.50 for a fish taco is just right. But 6 bucks for just bread and cheese? Come On…

I ate at CheeseMe today just because it is one of the few trucks in my area I have not tried. Also I wanted to see if the cost was justified but alas it was not. 6 dollars for a grilled is ridiculus. It was just a normal grill cheese just like I make at home. The McShane is priced at $12 bucks! Add a side of sauce and that price is bumped to $14. I mean really? I don't think so.

I have to agree with everyone on the prices. I wanted to try a few things on the menu but I wasn’t willing to spend that kind of money on a grilled cheese sandwich. Times are hard and for me the price and portions will always be the determining factor.

Food was tasty but expensive. I had checked out this site before trying out the food and the picture of the Mac & Cheese pancakes w/ fries was kinda deceptive. The combination apparently wasn’t an option, so when I ordered the pancakes, all I got was the Mac & cheese and ended out having to order the fries for an additional $4. Well, now I know.

I read this review Beast & just had to have a texas toast, gruyere & short rib grilled cheese too…it was AWESOME!!! That short rib was so juicy & the cheese so melty, really good stuff! I was full & all but that sandwich alone cost me $10 so I agree with everyone that it’s just too pricey, which is a shame. I wish you’d at least get a side of fries or something! I’m glad I experienced Cheeseme but I’ll probably skip it next time…unless someone else is buying 😉

What? The McShane is 12 bucks?!? Whoa! I’ve been craving one since I saw a broadcast about them on Chan 10, but frankly, the Purple People Eatery’s Black & Blue bison burger is huge and only 6 bucks.

I visited the food trucks at Midway Ford this evening and got the Mac & Cheese Pancakes. They looked nothing like the photo on Burger Beast’s website. Instead of golden brown, the places that were cooked were basically blackened, and the taste was extremely bland.

This is one of my favorite food trucks in Miami! Their Texas Toast Gruyere Short Rib Grilled Cheese is to die for.

I was a FOOD TRUCK newbie when I tried ChEESEME. I had the Kobe, CHeddar Cheese on Enlish muffin. It was juicy, warm and yummy but a little lakcing on flavor/seasoning. I recommend it during the Fall or WInter as it was heavy and more of a comfort food….Definitely was NOT a good idea in 95 degree weather.

As a Side I ordered the Mac N CHeese pancakes…..They were a bit burned and I tasted the charred flavor ver the cheese. This was a bit of a disappointment.

I washe everything down with a refresshing COCA COLA!

And all to a GRAND TOTAL of $17+ OMG?!?!?!? This was the worse of all …..ALthought the Kobe was Yummy, I def. think I will try other trucks before coming to this one again. sorry

I want to ask something…why Miami food trucks are so expensive?? I still hadn’t found one that is inexpensive… isn’t the point of this trucks to sell the food cheaper that in restaurants? Their prices are almost the same than in any restaurant. I was looking at a show the other day about food trucks and in Portland one was selling their food for $5!
For the first I try something from Cheese Me.Before buying food from them I read the comments here and I thought people were exaggerating a little but when I saw the prices I was in shock! I choose a ham and cheese sandwich because I need something to be cook fast and it was $9 that is just ridiculous! It was good but never again eating from this truck.I can go and buy myself more food with $9 than just a sandwich.
