I created the Frita Showdown to not only showcase the Frita Cubana but to crown a “Best Frita”. I believe Cuban Guys, El Mago De Las Fritas, El Rey De Las Fritas, Luis Galindo’s Latin American & Sergio’s have 5 of the Best Fritas in South Florida, which is why I chose them to compete. The panel of judges (Univision’s Ingrid Hoffman, Eating House’s Giorgio Rapicavoli, Bread + Butter’s Alberto Cabrera & CREaM’s Randy Fisher) blind-tasted all of the Fritas and chose El Rey de las Fritas as the winner of the 2013 Frita Showdown. Congratulations to them and as Ash would say, Hail to the King Baby!
For those of you who attended I hope you enjoyed Frita Showdown as we (my wife Marcela and I) along with all the great local restaurants and businesses poured our hearts out into this event.
