I can’t believe we’ve been doing this National Burger Month Food Truck Burger event for 4 years now, time really does fly. We held the competition at Magic City Casino once again for 2014. The judges for this year’s competition were Giovanny Gutierrez (Brains behind Chat Chow Tv), Michell Sanchez (Owner/Chef/Founder of Latin House) and Steve Simon (Food Truck Invasion Event Organizer extraordinaire).
I sat at the table with them to ensure no one was conspiring or that any shenanigans would happen. The Burgers were brought and presented to the judges by the Food Trucks owners and/or Chefs themselves. The Burgers were cut into quarters for tasting purposes. Some of them cut the beauties at the table after we snapped some pictures. The scoring system was 1 out of 10, 1 being the Best.
Da Burger Shack won the competition with their Steak-N-ator (Special blend of Skirt Steak & Ground Beef, Bacon Sauce, Cheddar Cheese, Smoked Bacon & a Fried Egg). I sampled all the Burgers, I mean who do you think got the leftover quarter of the Burger?
The Da Burger Shack did deserve the victory and I really think because they char-grill their Burger its smokiness won the judges over. The Rolling Stove came in a close second with Burger & Beer Joint in third. HipPops who was celebrating their 2nd birthday showed up about half way through with some palate cleansing bars, thanks to them for that.

The Rolling Stove: Chipotle Burger – A double pattied Burger is served with American Cheese, Grilled Onions, Chipotle Sauce & Jalapeño Jelly on a Toasted Bun.

El Mago de las Fritas: Leyenda de Bestia – Spanish Burger with Crispy Chorizo Bits, Manchego Cheese, Roasted Red Peppers & Crème Fraîche Chimichurri on a Hybrid Bun
King of Racks BBQ: The Triple B – Blue Cheese infused Burger stuffed with Pulled Pork & topped with Cheddar Cheese & Maple Bacon with a little drizzle of our homemade Guava BBQ sauce.
Cheeseburger Baby: Keepin’ it Classic, Spicy Edition – An Angus Beef Burger stuffed with Jalapeños, cooked to a juicy medium and lovingly sprinkled with Baby’s Secret Seasoning Salt, an over medium Fried Egg, Sharp Cheddar Cheese, and Crispy Honey Smoked Bacon on a lightly toasted Buttered Bun.
Mr. Good Stuff: Blue Cheeseburger with pickled Red Onions.

Jersey Dawg: Jersey-style Slider – Butcher Ground Fresh Beef cooked on a bed of Steamed Onions & served on a Martin’s Potato Roll.
Box of Chacos: Kimchee Burger – Seasoned/Marinated Black Angus Beef Patty, Fried Cheese, Colby Jack Cheese, Quick Kimchi & Miso Special Sauce.
Passion BBQ: Davy Boy – A juicy BBQ Burger with Melted Cheese & topped with Pulled Pork.
Taco Fresh: Al Pastor Burger – Adobo-spiced Beef Patty, Queso Blanco, Guacamole & Fresh Pineapple.
Monster Burgers: Monster Burger – 8 oz. Beef Burger with Bacon, Extra Mozzarella Cheese, Onions, & Monster Sauces.
El Rey de las Fritas: Frita Dulce – La Frita Original with Sweet Plantains.
Crazydilla: Burgery Cubadilla – Imported aged Swiss, all-natural Serrano Ham, Roasted Pork & a Beef Patty in Quesadilla form with a side of Garlic Mustard Aioli.
Don Mofongo: Chimi Burger – Don Mofongo Burger topped with Lettuce, Tomato, Cheese, Potato Sticks & Salsa Roja on a Pan de Agua.
