I’ve taken a road trip out of state every year for the last 10 years. In about 8 of those trips I’ve stopped in Atlanta, Georgia. During the 2018 and 2019 edition, both of which my wife Marcela has been at my side we have stopped at Fox Bros BBQ. The majority of the pictures that you will see below were from the most recent trek through Georgia.
There was a collab Taco with Taqueria Del Sol where 100% percent of the Taco sales go to a local charity for families with children who are battling brain cancer. The Taco for the Cause featured smoked pulled pork, spicy creamy slaw with a pepita pesto on a flour tortilla. By the way, I did lift the entire description from the menu but in my defense I never tried it. Marcela is the tacoholic in this household and she loved it.
All I need to see are the words Pimento Cheese and I lose my mind. I almost committed seppuku when I saw it paired with a Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage. I was in love and am currently still going steady with this platter. Please give me a moment….
Alright, I’m back!
Oh man, that brisket chili was right up my alley. Marcela was busy with her taco while I trying to enjoy as much chili as I could before she was done. She likes chili but nowhere near as much as I do. My Mom makes a mean chili but I give the Fox Bros Brisket Chili the win this time, sorry Mom.
That gargantuan Beef Short Rib is most definitely eye candy and meat candy too while we’re at it. Please take a good long look at that char on it and if it doesn’t make you drool then I don’t know what exactly will.
There is no burger on the Fox Bros BBQ menu but there is the Fox Bros “Burger”. Listen to this description, well actually read it:
Chopped brisket topped with bacon, tomato, red onion, pickles, melted pimento cheese and jalapeño mayo on a buttered, brioche bun
It’s a tough call if you have to choose between the Beef Short Rib and the Fox Bros Burger. I do have a solution for you. Don’t choose, bring someone to share with. You really do need to eat both of these.
We were somehow able to squeeze in a few bites of the Mixed Berry Galette. It was phenomenal.
Stay tuned to my Instagram for another visit to Fox Bros BBQ in 2020. You can bet on that.
