I consider myself a sandwich and meatball connoisseur. So, it should be no surprise that I’m constantly searching for the Best Meatball Sub in Miami.
I’ve been eating a couple of these meatball subs for over 30 years, which is wild now that I think about it. Shout out to Frank’s Pizza (81st and SW 8th Street, Westchester), which closed years ago but is another of my all-time favorites.

The Big Cheese
The Big Cheese has comfort food that tastes exactly as you remember it. It had been years since my last meatball hero at Big Cheese, and guess what? The meatball sub tasted exactly as I remembered it.
When I finally got my driver’s license, the Big Cheese was one of my destinations to eat a white pizza with a meatball sub-chaser.

Di Piazza Italian Restaurant
I worked less than a mile from Di Piazza Italian Restaurant for about a year, during which time I ate many pizza and meatball parmigiana subs.
It’s been over twenty years since that pre-Burger Beast version of me, but I still remember the tasty meatballs from Di Piazza. A recent visit reminded my taste buds about what I’ve been missing.

Leo’s Pizza
Leo’s Pizza has always been on the delivery rotation to my parent’s home in Westchester. We’re talking; we go way back to 1993.
My go-to pie is ground beef and pepperoni and, of course, a meatball sub. I’ve been to Leo’s Pizza and only eaten a meatball sub, but there’s never been a time where I only ate the pizza; that tells you everything.

Pizza Johny’s NY Style Pizza
I’ve been eating Johny’s meatball parmigiana since he was co-owner of Little Louie’s on Bird Road. This sando made the jump from one restaurant to the other unscathed and possibly even better!
You know the deal: homemade meatballs with sauce and mozzarella always win. And at Pizza Johny’s, you get the real deal from an honest fella from New York.

Pizza Scene
One day, out of the blue, a friend asked if I had eaten at Pizza Scene. He’s a regular there, but he never thought to invite me for lunch for some reason.
So I went without and enjoyed some great garlic rolls, pizza, and a meatball sub. This beauty reminds me of a meatball sub from my youth; I’m glad we could reconnect.

Roman’s Pizzeria
Roman’s Pizzeria is a Miami Springs neighborhood pizza joint. And like any great local spot, the sandwiches are spot on.
The meatball sub is so freakin’ good; here’s to hoping you’ll make the drive to the Springs for this guy.

Steve’s Pizza
Steve’s Pizza makes a housemade-meatball sub, the kind you find in almost every neighborhood in America. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with that since those are the best kind and exactly what I grew up eating.
It’s a big sandwich, though, and if you can finish it after having some rolls and pizza, you’re a better person than I am. I ended up saving half for lunch the next day.

Love this list!
I agree with that statement, lol
