The Frankenstein Monster aka Boris Karloff’s Guacamole Recipe

Horror icon Boris Karloff is best known for portraying Frankenstein’s Monster in James Wale‘s 1931 masterpiece Frankenstein. What most folks don’t know is that he had a love for fine foods.

Boris was enamored with Mexican Cuisine, so it makes sense that his favorite recipe was guacamole.

I’m not a fan of guacamole, but I am a giant fan of Boris Karloff and all of his classic monster and horror endeavors. You can read about my previous life as a horror and cult film store owner here: Oh, The Horror DVD Shoppe.

That being said, I enjoy his recipe for the green mushy stuff. It does taste slightly different from the more pedestrian versions out there, but this is one of my horror idol’s creations, so I’m inclined to give him some leeway.

Give it a try, and let me know!

Notes

Boris suggested that the guacamole be served on a bed of lettuce for all you salad folks or with tortilla chips as an appetizer. I remember reading somewhere that it works well as a canapé spread too.
