A few years back, I was introduced to the wonderful world of Quiche at this same spot, Buena Vista Deli. It was like the day I learned to ride a bike or when I realized I wouldn’t say I liked lettuce; in other words, it is a day I won’t forget.
Of course, I’m going to tell you to try their quiche. A majority of the quiche is available in mini versions, which makes it easy if you want to try a few.
As much as I love the Quiche Lorraine (ham & cheese), I could also make a strong case for the goat cheese & mushroom as another great choice.
There are paninis and sandwiches on the menu as well. Their version of the Croque-Monsieur was a perfectly crafted ham and cheese sandwich. I didn’t inquire about a Croque-Madame (the same sandwich topped with an egg), but I’m sure it’s on their ultra-secret local menu.
And the Desserts…
The desserts here are beautiful to sit and look at. I refused to hurt the Strawberry Napoleon that Droolius ordered.
He had no problem cutting it and, in the process, squeezing all the creme out of it. The Tropézienne that we shared fared way better. It was like having a liquored-up creme burger.
Don’t let the parking situation (very limited) deter you from stopping at Buena Vista Deli. It’s worth the extra effort to come in and grab some desserts and fresh bread. And some of those eggy little pie-shaped things I love so much, too.
