Coolhaus Ice Cream & Sammies now at a market near you

Towards the tail end of the Miami Food Trucks‘ explosion in popularity, Coolhaus dessert trucks showed up in Miami. It seemed they had arrived in time to catch some of the mobile food wave sweeping South Florida, but it was beginning its decline also.

The trucks moved out to another city, waiting for them with open arms while their new fans in Miami hoped they might return at some point. It may have taken a little while, but Coolhaus is again available throughout South Florida at Publix Supermarkets.

Nationally, Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods Market carry a selection of Coolhaus ice cream, dairy-free pints, and sammies.

Ordering a Couple of Each CoolHaus Flavor

A couple of weeks back, I ordered from Publix via Instcart the CoolHaus Chocolate Chip Cookie & Ice Cream Tahitian Vanilla Bean and Cookies & Cream sammies for $4.65 each. The pints of
Banana Foster & Midnight Munchies set me back $5.53 each. Admittedly, both are at a premium price, but as they say, you get what you pay for.

A few bites in, I never thought about what we paid again. Instead, I focused on enjoying the Bananas Foster pint; I had designated as my pint. By default, Marcela enjoyed the Midnight Munchies pint, which was more her style anyway.

She snoozed, so she lose’d (not a word, I know), aka I ate both sammies. I can tell you with 100% certainty that I was not apologetic in the least about doing that.

I’m about ready to try out new flavors with my next order, and that Street Cart Churro Dough is at the top of the list. If you’ve got an idea about which one we should try next, please let me know by leaving a comment below.

December 22nd, 2011 – How often can someone say they’re immortalized as an ice cream sandwich? I will go out on a burger limb and say not many. So I was ecstatic when Coolhaus approached me about adding a Burger Beast Ice Cream Sandwich to their line-up.

Coolhaus has all these fantastic flavors and cookies to try. I thought long and hard about which cookie or flavor best represented me.

The BB has Potato Chip & Skor Bar Cookies sandwiching a Coolhaus’ Brown Butter Candied Bacon Ice Cream slab. The sandwich is as divine as it sounds. You’ll be able to get your hands on this dude starting this Friday at the Miami HEAT Happy Hour held at Tobacco Road beginning at 5 PM.

The best part? It will also be available at all the Coolhaus trucks (Austin, Los Angeles, New York, and their store in Culver City, California).

Look for the 2 Coolhaus trucks around Miami and work your way through their menu. You won’t be disappointed. Oh, and make sure to have a BB Ice Cream sammie while you’re there.

Shortly before the Coolhaus Burger Beast Ice Cream Sammie’s debut at Tobacco Road, I was invited by the powers that be to check out their headquarters in Miami. They tried to schmooze me by making any sammie of my choosing.
