I had been waiting ever so patiently for Doce Provisions to open. Finally, chef Justin Sherrer and his wife, chef Lisetty Llampalla, have created a great comfort food menu that’s not dumbed down for the masses.
I met Justin when he was the chef at the Cinebistro at Dolphin Mall. Lisetty’s background includes working under chef Ralph Pagano for a few years.
Before discussing the food, I loved another thing about Doce Provisions. The backyard area is a perfect little spot for hosting parties and events.
Doce Provision Chorizo Croquetas
The highlight of my meal was the chorizo croquetas with mostaza and queso fresco sprinkled all over.
As a side note, these croquetas won the Judge’s Best Croqueta award at my event, Croqueta Palooza, in 2017 and 2018. Okay, back to the action.
Great Burger, Pan con Bistec, and Tres Leches

Initially, I skipped over the Doce Burger on purpose. At first glance, it looks the opposite of what I’d enjoy in a burger with all that color and veggies. However, upon flavor dissection, those things combine to make a powerful combination.
I ate it as is and did not remove a thing; what’s more, I enjoyed it. Damn you, Justin and Lisetty!
Eventually, Doce Provisions added a Pimento Cheese Burger to the menu, and now they were talking my language. It’s a double smash burger with pimento cheese, special sauce, and pickles on a buttered brioche bun.
Those specks of smoked sea salt added to that final touch. I’m 100% sold on the Pimento Cheese Burger; it’s absolutely killer.
No matter what transpires during your visit to Doce Provisions, the last thing you eat, and it’s a must, is the Coconut Tres Leches: vanilla cake, graham streusel, pineapple confit.
It blew my mind, and I’m not even a pineapple fan.
