Edge Steak & Bar in Brickell, Florida

Have you ever lied to yourself about something? This is the week that I finally go to EDGE (1435 Brickell Avenue, Miami), I’ve been saying to myself for almost two years.

I got dangerously close to eating here last November, and I don’t know what happened. But then, dmo305 posted this on Instagram, and I was at EDGE the following day. The power of social media always wins out.

EDGE Steak & Bar is located within the Four Seasons Hotel. I have to tell you that I dug the hotel. I will add it to my list when I’m planning a staycation.

I felt right at home with some warm bread and butter at the table. Marcela decides that its $19 lunch menu is the way to go. I’ve got other plans since my mind is set on the croquetas and EDGE burger.

Her lunch menu consists of an appetizer (she chose the tapenade) and a main (the Butcher’s Cut Filet) from a few options, plus a pre-selected dessert, vanilla pudding. It was a well-balanced meal that she loved. I stole a bite of the filet, and it was dynamite.

Did someone say tostones? I didn’t even realize these were on the menu. These little ditties with the Avocado spread were right on.

You’ve always got to give credit where it’s due, and Chef Aaron Brooks’ cheddar & chorizo croquetas were outstanding. There are Croqueta Palooza worthy.

The Romesco Sauce was the right touch for this dipping society.

Important Burger Talk

The EDGE burger had something going for it right off the bat; they use Creekstone Farms Beef, which I think is excellent. You can choose between a 6oz or a 9oz burger here.

My 9oz burger arrived in photo mode with lettuce, tomato, red onion, and Vermont cheddar with fresh-cut fries. I stripped her down to just the melty cheese and toasted bun. Finally, she was ready to go.

I closed my eyes as I went in for the first bite, and this beauty delivered. I regret not having the EDGE burger sooner.

There might have been more memorable moments in my past, but here’s to the future burger love. And the fries are crispy goodness.

Save Some Room for Dessert

The chocolate mousse was calling my name. I could not pass up the opportunity. This is not a gigantic dessert, but any stretch of the imagination, but the flavors are YOWZA!

I should induct this chocolate mousse into the National Dessert Museum. Is there even one?

If you’re looking for a friendly, laid-back, and not pretentious space for lunch or dinner, this is the place; take my word for it.
