I’m so glad my bud Fatgirl Hedonist turned me onto Pembroke Pines‘ Hot Chicks House of Chicken (there’s a second location in Wellington). It’s not like she told me directly about them, but I saw a picture of a chicken sandwich on her Instagram. I knew it was right on the money, so I called her, and she confirmed it was a must.
I only find myself in Broward County if we’re delivering cases of our Burger Beast Sauces to markets or BEAST Boxes to customers. We would do both on a Saturday, so I scheduled ourselves around ending our day at Hot Chicks.
Everywhere you look, restaurants add their take on Nashville Hot Chicken and its variant, the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, to their menus. Unfortunately, most fail when the “Hot Chicken” does not faithfully resemble the dish they try to emulate.
Hot Chicks Menu
Hot Chicks at last!
By the time we arrived at Hot Chicks, it was sprinkling. Marcela grabbed an umbrella and went to their shop to get our order. I sat patiently, or probably not so patiently, with excitement. I followed her and the bag with my eyes intently while she made her way back to me.
We pulled out each item and photographed them. Marcela is way better with sandwich photography, so she did the sammy while I did everything else. I grabbed a fry while she was finishing up. The chicken was perfectly fried but didn’t do anything for me.
The Mac and Cheese was plenty creamy and cheese. How would it taste with some of their hot seasoning added to it? Hmm…
Marcela was first in line to try the Nashville Hot sandwich while I ate a tender. She loved it; the slaw was great, and the bun was perfect. In addition, the bread was never in danger of disintegrating while being eaten, and I’m not too fond of it when that happens.
We were fine with Medium Heat Level
We ordered both the sandwich and tendies at their medium heat level. I’m not the man I once was, and I can tell you there’s nothing to prove when you choose the hottest level, only to regret it the rest of the day.
The *Best Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich I’ve eaten is from Hattie B’s in Nashville and Swine & Sons in Winter Park. Hot Chicks is just as good as those and possibly better cause they’re within driving distance of me. But, and it’s a big but…the tenders are five stars across the board. It’s what we call the next level.
You might be asking yourself, why didn’t we order the dark or light quarter hot chicken? When eating these spices with your hand, there is always a great fear that they might get into your eyes inadvertently. That’s a situation we don’t need, or neither do you.
On our return visit to Hot Chicks, we’ll take a seat inside and order a Whole Family Meal with Potato Salad and Southern Greens for the sides with some medium tenders by mistake.
*with honorable mentions to Shake Shack for their Hot Chick’n Sandwich and to Clancy’s for their Nashville Hot Potato Chips

Glad you like Hot Chicks! my sister lives out west there and I stop in often on my way to her place. I highly recommend trying their Korean chicken sandwich as it comes. it’s great! also best deal they have there is their little chicks combo. which is their version of nuggets with a side. Great bang for your buck. enjoy!
I need to try those nugs!
OMG . . The Mac & Cheese at Hot Chicks is amazing. The best . . . Unbeatable, it’s a must try
