My bud Jamie swears by Hotdog-Opolis in Boca Raton. He threatened that there would be hell to pay if I ate there without him.
I’m an eater, not a fighter, so I let him know of my impending visit to this hot dog haven. We agreed to meet for lunch right at their opening time.
The number of options is overwhelming. So it was refreshing to see that they do fresh-cut fries fried perfectly in 100% peanut oil.
Jamie insisted that I order the Peking Jumbo Dog (wrapped in duck bacon, hoisin sauce, pineapple sauce & scallions). If I owned a time machine, I would go back and have this again for the first time, over and over again, Groundhog’s Day-style. Wow!
One of his favorites isn’t a hot dog but the Char-Grilled Salami on a pretzel bun. It might sound simple, and it is, but it’s great.
There’s a pretty good corn dog on the menu too. I’d skip out on the cheeseburger, though, as the dogs are way superior to it; no need to waste valuable stomach space. Plus, that chili cheese dog on the poppyseed bun fell from the heavens into my hands, lol.
I’m not exactly sure how we could get through it, but we did, and I’d do it again. I just might, but don’t tell Jamie
IMPORTANT NOTE: There is a giant selection of game sausages at HotDogOPolis in Boca Raton, along with craft colas and beers to wash down your meal.

Side Note From 2014
In 2014, they sold Coach Ditka’s Monster Sausages. It was a line from Vienna, the famous Chicago hot dog brand.
Two premium sausages made up the collection, a Hot Beef Polish Sausage and a Chicken Sausage with Mozzarella and Sun-Dried Tomatoes. They were eight inches in length and 1/3 pound each.
And get your mind out of the gutter; we’re talking encased meats here!
