In July 1979 Ralston-Purina closed or sold all 279 Jack in the Box locations in the South East, 1/4 of units in operation at the time. In addition, all Florida locations in Bradenton, Orlando, St. Peterburg, Sanford, Tallahassee & Tampa were gone by the end of 1980.

After over 40 years, I’m ecstatic that its official Jack in the Box is re-opening in Florida, Orlando, to be exact! The number of restaurants and where and when the revival begins have not yet been revealed.
Jack in the Box is known for its all-day breakfast menu, 2 for 99-cents tacos, and my favorite, the Sourdough Jack.

The Sourdough Jack burger comes with bacon, tomato, Swiss-style (?) cheese, mayo, and ketchup on toasted sourdough bread. I can already see myself enjoying one while driving around Orlando; I can’t wait!
We NEED Jack in the Box in the Winter Haven/Lakeland area please
My first Jack in the box tacos was in 1972, waiting in line for gas that was limited to $3 every other day, and Jack in the box across the street had a special 4 for a
dollar! Still the very best tacos I’ve ever enjoyed. They don’t look like much but they taste heavenly!
That’s why they’re one of the most popular items on the menu.
I live in Vero Beach FL and have to drive all the way to North Carolina three times a year from my tacos please open soon
I love the tacos!
Please get us dates and locations in Orlando.
We are suffering here without you.
I’m a snowbird that flies from Maine to Florida and back each year in my own airplane. I stop for fuel in North Carolina just so I can Uber to Jack in the Box for a dozen Tacos! PLEASE OPEN IN FLORIDA. Waiting 6 months between fixes is way too long!
Any idea on when it will be opening? Die hard Jack in the Box fan here, they need several locations over here in the Clearwater, FL area
Nothing yet.
