Longhorn Steakhouse is one of those restaurants where we end up celebrating family birthdays. I enjoy a few things on the menu, but the burgers are not at the top of that list.
The funny thing is that they have a few burgers on their lunch menu but only one on their dinner menu, the LH Burger. So I was with Marcela, who was starving and driving the waitress off her rocker (although I think she was enjoying it).
We ordered the Texas Cheese Fries, Texas Tonion, & chicken bites for apps.
The Texas Cheese Fries are one of those items I love, fries with three kinds of cheeses, bacon, chili, and jalapeños. I’ve had their chili solo, but I prefer it on these fries, even though they do go a little cheap on the toppings.
The Texas Tonion is their take on the onion petal app, except these are individual petals. These fellas were not too shabby if you ask me.
I’m a sucker for chicken strips, nuggets, or whatever you’d categorize them as, and these chicken bites fall into that category. I would have preferred them to be a little spicier.
What About The Burger?
So I ordered the only burger on their dinner menu, the LH Burger with cheese. The Longhorn Steakhouse menu claims this burger is juicy (not so) and that it’s half a pound (not likely since it was mostly onions).
I did like that it came with mayo, ketchup, and mustard (a childhood thing, I guess). The bun was toasted, and it was a nice touch with the addition of bacon and Swiss cheese.
Would I return here to eat a burger here again? Probably not, but if I did, I’d go at lunchtime.
