National Restaurant Chains with Solid Burgers

Ever find yourself wanting to eat a burger from a national restaurant chain but not wanting to roll the dice? I mean, there are hundreds of chain restaurants across the United States selling their version of a burger you must try.

According to their menus, it’s either cooked to your liking or cooked to perfection. I see that cooked to perfection description and I’m instantly turned off.

When my family gets together and wants to eat out, we end up at a chain restaurant. There are some that I enjoy but on average, I’d never eat there if it was solely my choice.

What makes a Restaurant Chain National?

There are several types of restaurant chains. In your community, you might have a micro chain of restaurants with right around four locations.

If that particular restaurant split the four spots amongst at least two states but not more than ten, it would be considered a regional restaurant chain. A national restaurant chain is when the company operates in ten or more states.

Now, that we’ve got that out of the way, we’re talking strictly about national restaurant chains that have solid burgers. We’re not talking about the Fuddruckers, Steak ‘n Shake, and Red Robins of the world.

These are not national burger chains, if not, this list would be much longer.

Buffalo Wild Wings

If you could go back in time two years and tell me I’d be praising the glories of Buffalo Wild Wings and their burgers, I’d say you were crazy, never gonna happen. And yet here we are and I am indeed loving their fresh beef smashed burgers.

Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen

Quarter pound grilled medium-well burger comes with four slices of bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onions on a brioche bun.

You won’t normally find me ordering a burger from Cheddar’s but it’s not cause I don’t enjoy them. This scratch kitchen does everything right when making their burger; there just happens to be a Monte Cristo on the menu that’s got my comfort food number.

Cheesecake Factory

I’ve long maintained that Cheesecake Factory‘s burgers are one of the best things to eat from that overwhelmingly gigantic menu. Suppose you can’t bring yourself to choose a burger.

In that case, I’d suggest splitting the Roadside Sliders (mini burgers with grilled onions, pickles & ketchup) appetizer with friends. But please do the right thing and request mustard instead of ketchup; there’s no need to be a heathen.

Denny’s

You might be surprised to see Denny’s burgers as one of my choices for a burger from a national chain. The only reason for that thought is you’ve never enjoyed one.

And I’m not talking about eating one after a drunken stupor; it’s a super solid choice even for breakfast. Try it for yourself and you’ll join the Denny’s burger bandwagon.

Outback Steakhouse

Half pound burger topped with Bloomin’ Onion petals, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, house-made pickles, onion, and onion bloom sauce.

Back in the day, the No Rules Burger from Outback Steakhouse was second only to the Alice Springs Chicken (and its honey mustard) in my world. Of course, the name has changed but their regular burger still has that signature Outback Steakhouse taste.

The only reason I’m suggesting you choose the Bloomin’ Burger instead is the rising cost of food. You can skip on the Bloomin’ Onion appetizer and get that some flavor with your burger; it’s a win-win.
