It is true: midway through National Burger Month, Pizza Hut has dropped a Cheeseburger Melt. However, they’re only available for a limited time.
Here is the official description for the Pizza Hut Cheeseburger Melt: Introducing the new Cheeseburger Melt, a parmesan-crusted thin crust Melt folded and loaded with beef, applewood-smoked bacon, onions, mozzarella, and cheddar, served with Burger Sauce on the side.
It does sound pretty good, but the real question is how the individual locations will execute the new melt. We’ve got a great-sounding Cheeseburger Melt, and fingers crossed it works out for all of us.
Pizza Hut Cheeseburger Melt
I was hoping that Pizza Hut would nail this one out of the park, but unfortunately, they didn’t. There is not one cheeseburger thing about the Cheeseburger Melt other than the burger sauce, which has a very pronounced pickle taste.
The Cheeseburger Melt was extremely greasy. Only the onion flavor came through, while the bacon and flavorless ground beef were lost in the mix. The outer pizza shell was slightly overcooked. This was a total mess, and based on their previous new product launch track record, I will not be giving this fella a second shot.
Let me know if you find and eat a Cheeseburger Melt, even though I don’t suggest it. If I were you, I’d steer totally clear of this debacle.

Pizza Hut vs McDonald’s
Also, Pizza Hut is throwing some shade at McDonald’s with this ad below on the TheCheeseburger.com website. It would have made more sense to cheap-shot Burger King since they’re the ones with a burger melt on the menu.
In keeping with this same marketing strategy, Pizza Hut-branded delivery vehicles will be in Chicago and Miami, McDonald’s and Burger King‘s hometowns. If you run across one in a fast food drive-thru, the QR code on the back window will give a coupon redeemable for a FREE Cheeseburger Melt and Pepsi while supplies last.
Is it a Burger Melt?
It appears that Pizza Hut is launching a Cheeseburger Melt on May 14th, 2024. Pizza Hut has taken over the website at https://thecheeseburger.com and added the braggadocious tagline, “The Burger Game is About to Change.”
After doing a little digging, I came across a page on Nutritionix that listed a “Burger—Pizza Hut Melt.” Pizza Hut uses this website to list its nutrition information, so now that mystery is solved.
What comes on this Burger Melt is still a mystery. I’m hoping it won’t end up being a total letdown like their Detroit-Style Pizza.
But I’m staying positive cause in the burgerverse, anything is possible.
