Mark your holiday wiener calendar; Pollo Tropical will be adding a Cuban Hot Dog to their menu for the July 4th weekend. This fella has most of the ingredients that make up a Cuban sandwich, hence the Cuban Hot Dog name.
Pollo Topical’s Cuban Hot Dog features an all-beef weenie topped with Swiss cheese, sliced ham, pickles, potato sticks, and mayo-mustard sauce. It’s available starting this Friday, July 2nd, through Monday, July 5th, at Pollo Tropical locations in Florida.

Friday, July 2nd UPDATE
My first thought about Pollo Tropical’s Cuban Hot Dog is, damn, that weighs a lot. The all-beef dog appears to have been working overtime on its suntan.
The bread appears to be a Medianoche-type bread which I’m a giant fan of. This is more akin to a full-sized sandwich than just a hot dog.
I’m gonna go ahead & give it a BB approval with reservations.
It’s not perfect by any means, but definitely worth a try. Maybe throw it in an air fryer or toaster oven to toast up the bread & melt the cheese; then we’re in business!
They’re priced at $6.99 for two of ‘em, which is a steal. The new french fries are pretty good, too; a relative of steak fries.
