After a tease in early 2020 about a possible Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers opening in Hialeah’s former Long John Silver‘s location, their imminent debut in Florida became official in November 2021. Raising Cane’s, with more than 600 restaurants, will have Florida locations in Doral, Homestead, South Beach, Orlando, and Tampa.

Raising Cane’s Doral
The Raising Cane’s Doral, Florida, location soft opened the week before Thanksgiving 2023. I gave it a week before, crossed my actual fingers that the lines weren’t out of control, and drove over.
On Black Friday, it was just under a 20-minute wait in the drive-thru. It’s the first time that I have ordered the Caniac Combo: 6 chicken fingers, toast, crinkle-cut fries, cole slaw, 2 Cane’s sauces (similar to Comeback Sauce), and a drink.
The chicken fingers were worth the wait, as usual, but the watered-down housemade lemonade I chose as my drink, not so much.
It’s nice to finally have a Raising Cane’s 10 minutes from my house in Doral, which is building a great comfort food scene.

July 13th, 2022 – Raising Cane’s in Homestead is still under construction. However, a sign is up to let everyone know they’re accepting employment applications.

Raising Cane’s Miami Beach
On January 17th, 2023, fifteen months after the announcement of the first trio of restaurants in South Florida, Raising Cane’s in Miami Beach (South Beach) opened. The restaurant has a very SoBe look and vibe created exclusively for this location. In keeping with the South Beach vibe, parking is an absolute nightmare.

About Raising Cane’s Food
During my extensive road trips a few years back, I ate from a few Raising Cane’s in Kentucky & Ohio. We loved them, and I’m excited for them to arrive in South Florida.
The menu at Raising Cane’s is simple but effective: chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries, buttered Texas toast, and coleslaw. There’s also a chicken finger sandwich.
The rug that ties the room together is their Cane’s sauce, a close cousin of comeback sauce. It’s served with the tenders, their sandwich, and it’s great for dunking your Texas toast.
