Flora’s East Side Pizzeria was the site of the first food write up done by this site, so of course it holds a dear place in my heart. I’ve been coming to Flora’s or East Side Pizza as it’s now known since I was a kid. On a recent visit they seemed to have changed the pepperoni they were using which sucks because the one they were using was smaller and a packed a better pep bite. The garlic rolls are always a good starter and while the burger is what I’ll deem good for a pizza place, the meatball sub is much much better. The first review written for BurgerBeast.com is below the pics:

nice and garlicky

Not the smaller Pepperonis but still Good

Swiss Alps Burger

Look at this dude, he’s saying Hello!
“My wife Marcela and I decided to go to Flora’s East Side Pizzeria located near North Miami Beach or whatever you call that area. I gotta tell you, if you have a fear of getting shot, I have no doubt, the First 48 has made at least one stop there, not that it has anything to do with the food, and it doesn’t. I found the staff to be friendly and instead of ordering the Meatball sub as suggested to me, I went ahead and got their Swiss Alps burger. Swiss Alps Burger:
Swiss Cheese, Sautéed Mushrooms, Bacon & Sautéed Onions on their Fresh Ground 1lb. Burger patty. I give them points for attempting fresh ground beef at a pizza joint. Burger was good, nothing out of this world but I found the toppings to taste better than the patty itself. I don’t get my hopes too high up at pizzerias but this was somewhat of a pleasant surprise. Do try the pizza, it’s pretty amazing. Oh yeah, and to prove what a knucklehead I am, I walked right in front of a giant fan when I went to throw away my garbage and it flew into the face of one of the employees, needless to say I didn’t turn around, but I did apologize. And I don’t want to hear about my photo being blurry, I’m not a photographer. Till next bun, wow yeah that was horrible. alright later”
