As I was driving by Bud’s Chicken and Seafood, I said to myself, “I’ve heard of that place!” I did the only logical thing, a u-turn, and made a beeline for the drive-thru.
Bud’s Chicken and Seafood has a handful of locations in the Palm Beach County area, but I had never run into one in my travels. I could finally cross this spot off my road food list.
I’m not a big seafood person, so that was out of the question. It left chicken as their other signature item, so I doubled up on a sandwich and fingers.
First thing is first, the buffalo chicken sandwich with crinkle cut fries. I had never done it before, but I asked for cheese and mayo on it after the drive-thru person suggested it.
The crinkle cuts were good, and the Bud’s Sauce that comes with the chicken fingers was a match made in heaven for them. I liked that the buffalo chicken sandwich comes on a sesame seed bun; it’s something that I’ve come to appreciate more over the years.
I enjoyed it, but it does not need the mayo or cheese. This chicken sandwich stands on its own merits; I’d keep it simple if I were you.
What About Bud’s Chicken Fingers?
I’m telling you that the boneless chicken game is strong at Bud’s.
Again, much like the sandwich, the chicken fingers don’t need anything else. But you have to try that Bud’s Sauce! It’s their version of the Southern Comeback Sauce.
Now that I think about it, I’m gonna take back my original comment about the chicken sandwich. If you add Bud’s Sauce to it, you will be in comfort food heaven.
