My quest for Lemon Pepper Wings has led me to *Hook Fish and Chicken in Palm Beach County’s Mangonia Park.
Beefy Talk
Before we can get to the main event, I may have inadvertently ordered a double cheeseburger, cheesesteak, and chicken tenders; whoopsie!
Let’s set aside my bias against frozen beef patties for a second. The sesame seed bun was a nice surprise, and the mayo double-up on the top and bottom bun was something I hadn’t seen.
It was a hefty burger. A great deal considering a side of fries is included, especially for the $9.99 price point. This is a great rainy day, you’re in a pinch burger.
The soft bun wasn’t toasted, which was ok cause the chopped cheese steak was right on. At 8 inches, it’s the perfect lunch portion, and it comes with their fries. There’s also a chicken version if you’re trying to lay low on the red stuff.
Chicken-y Talk
Now, we come to the chicken portion of the evening.
As crispy & tasty as the Lemon Pepper wings were, and trust me, they were, it was the hand-breaded chicken tenders that knocked my socks off. The tendies I chose were dusted with the lemon pepper seasoning.
Those Hook Fish and Chicken tenders need a homemade sauce that will send them into the stratosphere of awesomeness. One last thing: do not share these babies; you will regret it. I know I did.
