I received an email from Legends Tavern & Grille a few weeks back about a new promotion going on. Legends (a locally owned restaurant with locations in Deerfield Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Plantation, Pompano, and Sunrise) had been on my radar cause of a patty melt on their menu. The email turned into an invite to try one of their half-pound burgers.
The first thing I encountered was the Last Supper mural, which was made up of pop culture legends.

Since the patty melt was no longer on the menu, I couldn’t make up my mind on which burger would be my victim.
There was a Triple Smash Burger, but that was gonna be a little too much. I need to be mentally prepared to eat something like that; you can’t drop something like that on me. Alan, the general manager at this location, suggested I try the Creamy Brie and Bacon burger.
I thought that’s an interesting combination: brie cheese and bacon with grilled onions in a balsamic reduction. This one particular burger was half a pound. I asked for it cooked medium. Then the beauty arrived,
I generally lean towards smaller patties and while I thought the flavor profile on this was right on, the Double Smash Burger was still on my mind.
Alan asked if I wanted to try that fella. I was like,..hell yeah!
Legends did an excellent job of buttering and toasting the buns, which added a little hidden flavor boost that really tied that burger together. The buns are from a local Italian bakery.
Both were winners, so I need to come back and try a couple of other ones like the Black and Blue (blackened patty, bleu cheese crumbles, grilled onions, mushrooms, bacon) or Rodeo (BBQ sauce, bacon, onion rings, cheddar-jack cheese) burgers.

And remember the email that started all of this? It was about their Monday Burger Night when burgers are half off at Legends Tavern Grille.
Now, I know what day to make my return, which is perfect since they are now #burgerbeastapproved
Chicken Tender Talk
Usually, you might think this post might end here, but after another conversation with Alan, an order of their hand-breaded chicken tenders finds their way to our table. Sides of shoestring fries, coleslaw, and honey mustard dipping sauce round out the plate.
Those tenders were very crispy and crunchy, reminiscent of a fish fry dinner we ate at Boyce General Store in Kentucky. This is a compliment of the highest order, and don’t sleep on the housemade honey mustard cause that would be a mistake.
