PZZA in Boca Raton for Burgers and Fresh-Cut Fries

Dante, better known as Common Man Eats, suggested that I try the burger from PZZA. I found it odd because it’s a relatively new spot in Boca Raton known for making pizza. A few days later, I would find out that the burger and pizza were absolutely killer.

On a rainy day, I found myself driving to Deerfield Beach, which is just about 15 minutes from PZZA. My excitement level went up when I saw that in addition to the smash burger, there were also fresh-cut fries and a house-made ranch sauce.

Since I wasn’t about to leave without pizza, I chose everyone’s favorite pepperoni. Marcela told me she was sitting this one out, but I didn’t believe her for one second, and I was right.

I asked for them to send out the food as it was ready, and the burger came out shortly afterward. Josh, the owner, who was at the register, suggested that I make it a double and add raw red onions and Kewpie Mayo. Well, he was right. What a freaking great burger!

Just as I was taking my first bite, the twice-fried fresh-cut fries arrived. Does it get any better than fresh-cut fries with house-made ranch? I don’t think so.

What About the PZZA?

I had to take a call, so I went outside. Marcela stayed waiting for the pizza. She opened the box and snapped some pictures. Then, I took one bite and thought, wait until Sef gets a load of this. As soon as she got into the car, she asked me what the pizza tasted like.

I took a bite, a second, a third, and I said Magic City Pizza. Magic City Pizza was our go-to pizza spot until it suddenly closed last year. PZZA tastes eerily similar to that pizza, so we were ecstatic. We love those pepperonis that have a little kick to them.

We washed everything down with the locally made Kennesaw Lemonade, another great find.

My only regret, if there was one, was not ordering the Chicken Parm Sub. And that was not even a regret, but more like a rookie mistake. Or, maybe I was setting myself up for the next visit. Now that’s a thought!
