El Palacio De Los Jugos is the Real Miami

Either you instantly get El Palacio De Los Jugos  or you immediately add to your “do not return list”. Make sure to bring a Spanish speaker with you as its almost like being in a foreign country and that’s part of its charm. El Palacio is the Miami I wish most folks would see when on vacation and the total opposite normally portrayed on TV. I’m lucky enough to live just a few blocks away from this Miami institution and while I could walk, it’s freakin hot out there most of the time.

Seating for El Palacio is under a giant green tent and to get the full experience you really should eat here and forgo taking the goods home. The food is available in different open air stations featuring things like sandwiches, or the juices/chicharrones area. Since this is El Palacio De Los Jugos (Palace of the Juices or Juice Palace), you can choose a single serving cup (larger sizes available) of your favorite juice with choices like  Watermelon, Papaya or even Coconut Water made fresh by a machete wielding fellow nearby.

Over the course of many years I’ve tried many of the dishes served here and very few are misses. The Frita is unfortunately one of those tragic victims. Luckily, at that same food station I love to order a Pan con Tortilla (Omelette Sandwich) with Ham, Swiss Cheese and served on warm Cuban bread.

Pan Con Tortilla

My wife is Nicaraguan so whenever I walk by the fried food station a couple Queso Fritos are always ordered. Queso Frito are slabs a slightly salty white cheese pan fried to a semi brown deliciousness.

The real reason to come to El Palacio De Los Jugos is Pork. It’s served in a bunch of different forms including Pan con Lechon (Pork Sandwich) BUT…the Chicharrones are where it’s at. If you’ve never had Pork Rinds in this form then you’re missing out but the reality of the situation is if you have these Chicharrones you will always crave these and only these. There’s such a variety of foods available with something new to try each time which is why I’m glad to have El Palacio right in my backyard.

About Burger Beast

I started writing the Burger Beast food blog to tell folks about those little forgotten gems in South Florida. Over the course of the last 5 years or so I've added News, Opinions, & Tips on a variety of Food related subjects. My first love will always be Burgers but Comfort Food is where it's at. At the end of the day I’m a regular dude who writes about a bunch of things I think you should know about.
