I’ll be the first to tell you that I wasn’t very sure about Bocas House and their sister restaurant Bocas Grill when they burst onto the Miami food scene. Both are part of the Bocas Group Corporation by then Chef César González and current chef Levin De Grazia.
It all changed when I tried a burger from Bocas Grill (their sister restaurant) and saw the light. I then had an incredible dinner at the original Bocas House in Doral, and my opinion was cemented; I loved it.
They recently opened their first Broward Bocas House location in Weston and will follow that in Orlando in late September with an elevated Bocas Grill & Bar.
The new location in Coral Gables has a full bar, a first for them, along with a line of signature cocktails, including the Bocas Bull, which mixes Venezuelan beer and rum.
I know what you’re thinking; I haven’t mentioned their world-famous milkshakes. The Coral Gables location featured one created just for this spot (in addition to their other signature shakes) and named the Golden Milkshake: a Nutella Shake with a Hazelnut rim, topped with a Nutella Brownie and a Golden piece of Chocolate filled with Nutella Brigadeiro and Gold Dust, decorated with Raspberries.
You will need a mallet to crack the “golden piece of Chocolate,” but don’t worry; a small wooden one is included. It’s a beautiful spectacle to watch the Nutella lava ooze from it.
Now you know everything you need to know, so go enjoy.

Bocas House Milkshakes
Since the Bocas House shakes began showing up on my Instagram feed in 2017, I was convinced there was a hype machine behind them and that there was no way that they were any good. I can now eat my words and tell you they are indeed mother effin’ great. Below is their collaboration with Night Owl Cookies.
