Jimmy P’s Charred for Wagyu Burgers, Steaks & more

It wasn’t much of a drive to Jimmy P’s Charred (1833 Tamiami Trl N, Naples) from the home my family had rented for a week in Marco Island. Everyone wanted to stay lounging around the pool except for my bud John. He was up for grabbing a late lunch with me.

I didn’t realize that Jimmy P’s Charred is the steakhouse side to a butcher shop and deli. On the market side, there is a communal table. We, however, were there for a restaurant experience.

The first thing out of my mouth was, I hope this burger is incredible. Then, it happened. I spotted a Japanese Wagyu A5 steak on the menu. The last time I came across one of these puppies, I opted out and went with the “regular” house steak. It has haunted my beefy dreams.

I think that John will do the honorable thing and get the Wagyu Burger so we can try both. We both ended up ordering A5s. You know how I do things, so the Wagyu Cheeseburger was our shareable meal.

After a great stuffed bone marrow starter, we waited patiently for our A5s.

The CheeseBurger showed up, and we requested that it be placed in the exact middle of the table. We both eyed it and each other like a great spaghetti western from Sergio Leone. Before we could make a move, her royal majesty, the A5, arrived.

THE ORDER IS UP!

The char on the outside was just perfect. This steak just melted into my mouth. Wow, that’s all I can say. It’s rather hard to top that, but the Wagyu CheeseBurger did try its best.

A heaping handful of skinny fries accompanied the 8 oz. sandwich. We split it down the middle. The burger, while stellar, was no match for the A5.

Speaking of stellar, the Garlic Mashed Potatoes and the Potato, Bacon & Cheese Au Gratin was excellent, and somehow, we made it to dessert.

I was only able to muster a couple of spoonfuls of the Apple Crisp. John was on a tear and not only devoured his dessert but the rest of mine, what a beast.

One last note, our server Christopher was just incredible and needed to be commended for laughing at all of John’s bad jokes throughout the meal. Alright, they were my jokes, but they were pretty good.

(there’s also a Jimmy P’s Burgers close by)
