Miyako Doral is known as a sushi place, which is problem number one since I’m not a sushi fan. So, how did I end up here?

As I click my heels (I don’t wear high heels before some of you jump to conclusions; I’m tall enough), I say,” There’s no place like a burger joint. ” Since I can’t live by burger alone (I guess I could, but let’s be honest ), I occasionally eat at establishments that don’t have a burger.
My parents brought me some fried rice a few weeks ago. Fried rice from a Japanese place? I thought it was exclusive to a Chinese restaurant, yet I was speechless by how good it was.

Whenever I order fried rice, I always get vegetable fried rice. This fried rice had no meat or seafood, which was good for me. It was the best fried rice I’ve ever eaten.
My parents decide they’re heading out to Miyako, and I tag along to see what else I can consume. Once we arrived, I warmed up with a Sapporo beer.

They both get miso soup; I wouldn’t say I like it since it looks like water where you would hand wash your clothes.

While they’re downing their dirty water, our fire shrimp appetizer shows up. Besides the fire shrimp and gyozas, there are some vegetables and sweet potato-type fries.
Chicken Katsu for Dinner
Not too shabby. I order for my meal, katsu. Katsu is boneless, breaded, and then fried chicken.

So I played it safe, but there was nothing I was willing to go out on a limb and try; so sorry. I also ask for spicy mustard, and before you know it, I’m crying.

My mother ordered the Salmon Crunch! She loves this thing because about half of it was gone before I could even get a picture. My father gets his regular volcano roll; I guess the deal with this is that it’s spicy.

I still can’t get over how good that rice is. Our waitress is pretty funny, and she’s not Japanese but Chinese. The person serving us our drinks was Cuban, and the manager, I believe, was Nicaraguan.
So, not all things are as they appear at Miyako Doral except for the rice; that thing is perfect, as was the dirty water.
