We arrived at our hotel in Utica, Michigan, on a Friday for our sold-out Camacho Bold Burger Battle the following day at Robusto’s Cigar Bar & Bistro in Sterling Heights, Michigan. It had already been eleven days since we left on this month-long adventure.
After dinner, we settled in for the night before our battle, which, lucky for us, was just a few blocks away.

After the burger battle, we took a load off inside Robusto’s. What a beautiful spot, and to top it off, there’s a menu filled with the kind of grub we love, delicious bar food.
Marcela is a heat-seeking missile for nachos on any menu. She didn’t eat these in as much as she inhaled them.
They were great, but I was focused on the sliders and the full-size burger, which arrived within minutes of her love.
The Southern-style chicken sliders were perfect. The chicken was juicy, and the breading had the right amount of crunch.
There was a spicy-ish chipotle aioli sauce and a pickle on the top bun, but these fellas didn’t need them. Also, as a side note, the brioche bread rolls were delicious.
Slider or Full-Size Burger?
One bite in on the Wagyu Steak Sliders, and I think the full-size will have a problem matching up to these fellas. These beautiful little ditties come with Swiss cheese, garlic aioli, and pickled shallots on those tasty brioche rolls.
And my suspicions were correct; the sliders were better. Don’t be discouraged; the Wagyu Steak Burger should be your go-to if you’re looking for a heftier sandwich.
But in my experience, slider or mini-burger versions of a full-size pack a better bite and flavor explosion than their big brothers.
Don’t get it twisted. I’d eat a Wagyu Steak Burger in a heartbeat, but if the sliders are an option…sorry, not sorry.

Camacho Bold Burger Battle at Robusto’s
On June 18th, 2022, we continued the Camacho Bold Burger with our next adversary and later friend, Robusto’s Cigar Bar and Bistro. Every person who purchased a ticket to the event received sliders from each team, a copy of my book All About the Burger, plus some Camacho cigars and an entry into a raffle for a 1-year meat subscription from Climax Wagyu Farm and a chargrill from M GRILLS.
We came ready, and while we didn’t win, which seemed to be a recurring thing in this battle, we had a blast. We ate at the restaurant afterward, so that made up for it.
