My first Roman’s Pizzeria experience was back in the day when I worked at Bryson’s Irish Pub and Liquor Shop. At the time, Bryson’s was a lounge and not a restaurant, so that meant come lunchtime, I ate at Substantial Subs (now Subrageous Subs), Grace’s Delicatessen (R.I.P.), had dessert at the Dairy Queen in Hialeah (now Charlie’s Ice Cream) or enjoyed some tasty pizza from Roman’s.
I rekindled my pizza joint relationship with Roman’s around the beginning of the Burger Beast blog. They are best described as the pizza shop where you should eat more often than you do.
Every great meal at Roman’s starts with an order of garlic rolls. These fellas are covered but not soaked in garlicky goodness.
Like any self-respecting neighborhood pizza joint, the sandwiches are spot on. The meatball sub is so freakin’ good that it’s worth driving to Miami Springs for this guy alone.

On to what you came here for, the pizza.
The cheese pizza is exactly what you think of a picture-perfect pie. Please don’t add pepper flakes, garlic, or parmesan cheese…it’s delicious just as is.
You would have never known it, but I was guilty of removing a slice & then remembering I needed to take a picture first—the things I do for my craft.
Holy Smokes!!! Yes, the pepperoni pizza is my go-to and should be yours. I’m in love with it and working on getting engaged to it. Shh, don’t tell me, wife.
While I’ve only eaten the meatball ricotta pie a few times, it’s a winner. The only thing hurting it is that I would hate myself for not eating the pepperoni.
