For more than 20 years, Rosie’s Bar & Grill has been serving comfort food to the people of Wilton Manors. Although, initially, it was a Hamburger Mary’s franchise for the first four years of its life.
I first learned about Rosie’s during the years I judged at the Fort Lauderdale Burger Battle. In 2012, one of those years I judged, they won Best ‘Bar & Grill’ Burger. The winning burger was the Anita Mojito.
This lovely lady was topped with Swiss cheese, shaved ham, sliced pickles, Dijon mustard aioli, and mojo on a fluffy roll. The only thing nicer than how she looks is her taste, a winner.
Later on, they competed in my Amstel Light Burger Beast Challenge in 2015 and 2016. They fared well but did not win, however…Ivana Hooker, she would have had a fighting chance.

Finally, I’m at Rosie’s
On my only proper visit to Rosie’s Bar and Grill, we started with the Sweaty Lovin’ chicken tenders. The Smack My Cheeks and Make ’em Rosy sauce covered the tenders.
The greatness of the sauce is only equaled by the tastiness of the appetizer. My mouth is watering just thinking about it right now.
Now, let’s get back to my gurl, Ivana Hooker. This 8oz beef burger is covered with crumbled blue cheese and bacon on a brioche bun.
The toasty bread added a nice crunch; that blue cheese and bacon always hit the spot. I chose tots for my side, a childhood favorite.
There doesn’t appear to be a set dessert menu at Rosie’s, but the bread pudding called my name on this day. I want to say that I was able to enjoy it one bite at a time with coffee, except Marcela made sure that we were sharing.
Hey, that’s ok cause the Ivana Hooker burger was so good; I only had eyes for her.
